The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) may soon feel like the walls are closing in. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has assured Diane that his faith in her is unshakeable, but is that really true?
Even if Jack is able to remain committed to Diane and believe in her innocence, that doesn’t change the fact that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) are setting her up.
Unfortunately, it seems like Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is only smart about cases when a Y&R story calls for it!
That could mean bad news for Diane once the clues start piling up.
Chance saw right through Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) attempt to cover up how Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) really died.
When Jack and Diane framed Jeremy for the jewelry theft in Chicago, Chance smelled a setup then, too.
Based on Jeremy’s sudden marriage to Phyllis and all the weird coincidences surrounding her “death,” this has setup written all over it.
The focus should really be on Stark, but Chance seems more interested in the details that make Diane look bad – at least so far.
Of course, Chance is also awaiting the imminent blood test results and has been mulling over the possibility that Phyllis was poisoned – just like she claimed to EMT Carson (Walter Belenky) in the ambulance.
Since Jeremy’s determined to make it look like Diane sent Phyllis to an early grave, Diane may soon fear she’ll get arrested and thrown behind bars.
Even if Diane manages to keep her freedom, she may worry that her presence alone is blowing up Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) marriage.
Summer recently went off on Diane in a big way and said some pretty nasty things.
Diane knows Summer is grieving, but she may take her words to heart and start to feel like she never should’ve come back to town in the first place.
It’s easy to imagine Diane battling guilt over how things turned out and deciding Kyle as well as Jack would be better off without her.
Diane promised never to abandon Kyle again, but that’s a promise she may end up breaking.
Between the threat of arrest and all the drama her return created, Diane might choose to pack her bags and bolt!
That could leave Jack and Kyle on a desperate mission to track Diane down, especially once the truth about Phyllis and Jeremy’s deception comes to light.
