The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) marriage is on solid ground right now, but how long can their newlywed bliss really last?
We’re already seeing the first signs of trouble since Diane has encouraged Jack to fire Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and replace him with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Diane feels like Billy is just going to screw up anyway, so she’s fine with Jack casting him aside – especially if it means Kyle comes back to Jabot.
Of course, Diane also proposed the alternative of Jack retiring and letting Kyle run Jabot alongside Billy, but that’s just another way she’s trying to get inside Jack’s head and manipulate things behind the scenes.
Jack doesn’t seem to view that manipulation as a problem, but there’s one issue that could come roaring back and lead to a shattered marriage.
Although Diane and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) have moved past their feud for the time being, it may not be long until it comes back around.
Y&R spoilers point to Phyllis’ hostility with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) ending in grave danger, so Jack may feel guilty if Phyllis lands in harm’s way partly because of him.
Phyllis was trying to redeem herself with Jack when she hacked Tucker and riled him up with her newfound knowledge.
Since Phyllis’ blackmail threat won’t protect her for much longer, Jack may feel terrible once Tucker goes after her.
Jack has already been softening toward Phyllis just a bit, so fans may already be seeing the first signs of a Phyllis and Jack reunion.
If Diane senses that Jack might actually forgive Phyllis for her mistakes – including nearly letting Diane rot in prison – then that could blow up their marriage big time.
The closer Jack gets to Phyllis, the easier it’ll be for Diane to come unhinged and make some major blunders of her own.
Jack may make some updates to his bond with Phyllis in the coming months, so will that lead to bad news for his relationship with Diane?
