The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) has been stuck in romantic limbo for quite a while. Even when Elena was with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), his heart wasn’t truly in their romance.
Nate cheated on Elena with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), so she’s been struggling ever since. Although Elena tries to act all strong and tough, it’s easy to see how deeply Nate’s betrayal affected her.
Elena is definitely bitter over how things went down with Nate, so she’s been carrying around a lot of pain and resentment.
However, that isn’t doing Elena any good since she can’t turn back the clock and return to when Nate seemed like a decent man.
Elena has accepted that Nate either changed or was perhaps always a conniving guy who masked it well.
The best thing Elena can do now is just move on with her life – and Y&R spoilers say that’s what Elena will do during the week of August 21-25.
There’s no word yet on exactly how Elena will pull it off, but she’ll indeed take the first step toward a new future.
Elena seems content in her career at the hospital, so any changes she makes will presumably involve her personal life.
Maybe Elena will get on a dating app or even just hit it off with someone new at the bar.
It’s easy to imagine Elena flirting with some mystery man in the jazz lounge and seeing the possibility for new love.
Elena could at least see the potential for a one-night stand – just something fun to help her get past the first hurdle of getting over Nate.
Some viewers have been rooting for Elena and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to hook up, but can he really ignore his feelings for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) long enough to do something like that?
Elena needs someone who loves only her, so maybe she’ll meet a fresh face that could help her fulfill that need eventually.
No matter how this plays out, there’ll be good news when Elena finally takes the next step toward moving on. If that involves a date night with some mysterious hunk, we’d be all for it!
