The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) could be playing with fire when it comes to the scheming he’s doing with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). As of Y&R’s January 10 episode, there’s a risky new plan that involves Jack taking the lead on stealing from Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Diane needs to commit a crime to prove herself to Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), so she’s settled on stealing something valuable from Nikki as the best way to achieve that.
However, Jeremy’s 24-hour deadline will force the plan to move forward quickly.
Jack believes he still knows the alarm entry code at Nikki and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) pied-à-terre in Chicago – not to mention he’s aware of the building’s layout and will be remembered by some of the staff.
That could make it easier for Jack to slip in and out undetected, so he wants to steal some of Nikki’s prize jewels from her secret compartment and let Diane pretend she was behind the theft when she presents her offering to Jeremy.
Of course, Jack could get busted with Nikki’s jewelry before he ever leaves the building. This just feels like a situation where Jack is begging to get caught.
Perhaps Jack is wrong about the alarm entry code, which could’ve been changed since he only knows what it was from visiting the pied-à-terre with Nikki years ago.
It’s easy to imagine Jack setting off the alarm and still trying to make the jewelry grab before security or the cops arrive.
Jack might be desperate enough to take that risk for Diane’s sake.
Even if things go smoothly with the alarm, Jack could still get caught on his way out with some of Nikki’s most valuable gems.
It’s the kind of thing that could lead to Jack’s arrest, so what happens if he gets hauled off to jail?
Jack might fill Nikki in on the situation, but he certainly wouldn’t rat Diane out to the police for conspiring in any way.
If Jack gets busted, he may just have to hope that he can convince Nikki not to press charges.
Even so, Jack could still find himself spending a night in jail after getting led away in handcuffs!
It’s clear that Jack is putting a lot on the line for Diane, so stay tuned for updates on their messy plot.
