The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will get off the hook for Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) murder soon. The fingerprints and DNA evidence on Phyllis’ memorial program will prove she’s alive in the May 29 episode, so Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will have to accept the truth.
Of course, that means Diane will finally be able to clear her name and stop wearing that ankle monitor.
Diane will be eager to get back to her normal life with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will continue to cause problems.
Although Ashley will eventually have to admit Diane didn’t murder Phyllis, that won’t change her mind about the kind of person Diane is.
Ashley views Diane as a dangerous wildcard who’ll damage Jabot if she doesn’t take a bold stand against her..
That’s why Ashley’s planning a coup and hoping to remove Jack from his co-CEO position.
However, Jack won’t go down without a fight – and he won’t let anyone make Diane feel like a criminal once she’s been cleared either.
Ashley may act like Diane is still a guilty woman in the eyes of the public.
Perhaps Ashley will insist Diane is radioactive and will be a negative distraction for the company through her ties to this case.
Phyllis was willing to fake her own death just to get back at Diane, so Ashley may act like that says a lot about Diane’s character, too.
Ashley can’t stop Jack from marrying Diane if he wants, but she may warn that Diane can’t be part of Jabot in any way.
It’s easy to imagine Ashley delivering an ultimatum and vowing to get rid of Jack if he doesn’t get rid of Diane first.
Naturally, Jack won’t see any reason to punish Diane when she was Phyllis’ victim in all this.
In fact, Jack will think it’s time to prove Diane isn’t going anywhere and show everyone that her contribution to the family company is welcome.
Y&R fans can expect Jack to do something big and bold this summer.
Jack’s move will make sure Diane has a proper place in the family and the C-suite at Jabot, so it sounds like a promotion may be in order.
Will Jack make Diane his COO? Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will get stuck in the middle of the situation Jack’s about to create, so Jack’s co-CEO may have to deal with his controversial COO pick.
