The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, December 18, hint that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will witness something he wasn’t meant to see. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has been doing her best to conceal her sobriety struggles, but she may slip up when she thinks she’s alone.
It’d be easy for Nikki to sneak off by herself somewhere and guzzle from her flask. Nikki might take a swig when she thinks no one else is around and get caught when Nate pops up.
Then again, Nate might see Nikki spiking her coffee at Crimson Lights or something along those lines.
Between spotting the flask and sensing that Nikki’s a bit tipsy, Nate could fear the worst.
Although Nate obviously isn’t on the best terms with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) these days, he’ll feel obligated to help Nikki when he realizes she’s in trouble.
Nate won’t have hard evidence that Nikki’s losing her sobriety fight, but he’ll definitely be suspicious and will feel the need to give Victor updates.
That’s why Nate will speak to Victor in the jazz lounge and deliver some alarming news.
Nate will confess why he believes Nikki’s drinking again – right as Nikki appears nearby and sees this meeting in progress.
Y&R spoilers say Nikki won’t want to face accusations, so she’ll hightail it out of there before Nate and Victor can back her into a corner.
However, Nikki can’t outrun her alcoholism or the intervention that’s brewing if this keeps up. It’s clear that Nikki has a problem – and it’s only going to get worse if she keeps ignoring it and gulping down more vodka.
As for Nate, will he earn back a little of Victor’s respect by revealing this information and admitting he’s genuinely worried about Nikki?
It’s possible Victor will initially suspect Nate’s working some sort of angle, but Nate will hopefully convince him that’s not the case.
Nate may not be a doctor anymore, but he still cares about Nikki’s health and can’t stay silent about something so serious.
There’s nothing that matters more to Victor than the well-being of the people he loves, so he may ultimately thank Nate for coming to him.
