The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) could go from having three women to no women pretty quickly. Although Nate has multiple love interests at the moment, perhaps he doesn’t have the right one just yet.
For starters, Nate and Elena Dawson’s (Brytni Sarpy) romance is running on fumes at this point.
Elena has never felt the same way about Nate since he entered the business world.
Even if Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) weren’t a factor, it just doesn’t seem like Elena is truly in love with this corporate version of Nate.
There’s been nothing but bad news for Nate and Elena ever since he left the field of medicine.
As for Victoria, she may drift back in J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) direction if all these hints add up to him coming back.
If Victoria can get past the pain, she might remember just how much she loved J.T. once upon a time.
Even Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) could lose interest in Nate once she makes him her conquest.
Audra seems like the type to enjoy the chase more than anything and may not want Nate if he’s not in high demand.
Plus, the show’s been teasing a new romantic pursuit since Audra was so eager to meet Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), who’s probably on the verge of major marriage issues.
Audra may give much more of her attention to Kyle sooner or later.
What happens if Elena, Victoria and Audra all put Nate in the rearview mirror?
Since there are story-related signs that Nate might need another romantic option down the road, let’s consider one that’d bring some serious drama.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) recently declared his love for Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) and asked her to move in the penthouse.
Although Abby hasn’t given Devon an official answer yet, this couple feels totally blissful and unstoppable right now.
Y&R’s painted Devon and Abby into this happy corner that’ll be hard to blow up without something huge happening.
Maybe Abby and Nate could find common ground when it comes to their desire for the cousins to make amends.
Nate might reach out to Abby and grow closer to her as he seeks her help repairing the damage with Devon.
Abby and Nate used to be a couple, so could a reunion be in their future?
Perhaps Nate and Abby could at least make a steamy mistake together – whether it be in the form of a kiss or a hookup.
If the show lets Abby and Nate drift back toward each other, that could destroy Devon’s relationship with her and further fracture his bond with Nate.
There could even be some Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) custody chaos depending on how things play out.
Bottom line, Abby and Devon are going to need something to shake up their bliss, so Nate might be just the interloper to pull that off.
