The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) patience could wear thin rather quickly when it comes to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and his “baby daddy” status.
Nick was devastated over the news that Adam was the father of Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) child, so he’s still struggling to adjust.
Of course, Nick always has a smile and some comforting words of wisdom for Sally, but that’s mostly because he’s bottling up his feelings.
In Y&R’s February 28 episode, Nick glared as Sally and Adam shared a laugh together.
If Adam sticks to this new-and-improved attitude, he’s inevitably going to grow closer to Sally as they prepare to start a family.
The further along this pregnancy gets, the more frustrated Nick’s going to be with the situation.
It’s easy to pretend everything’s fine right now, but things will change once Sally’s sporting a baby bump and going to pregnancy-related appointments with Adam.
Nick will feel left out and may miss the closeness he once had with Sally.
Since so much of Sally and Nick’s romance seems based on having fun, their spark may dry up once Sally’s pregnancy truly becomes the priority.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has always been a familiar cheating partner for Nick.
Since we’ve seen Nick blow up his relationship with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) by sleeping with Phyllis, Sally could face the same treatment.
When you think about it, Nick’s attraction to Sally may be partly because she reminds him of a younger Phyllis.
Sally’s romance with Nick is centered around sleeping together and having a good time, which is most of what Nick’s relationship with Phyllis looked like.
Of course, there’s a reason why Phyllis and Nick didn’t last! Among other problems, there wasn’t enough substance for Nick and Phyllis to build a long-lasting future.
Phyllis and Nick also suffered from communication issues, which could be brewing for Sally and Nick, too.
Nick may feel like Sally is dropping her guard around Adam when she’s just naturally warming up to him based on the improvements he’s making.
Regardless, it’s easy to imagine Nick straying to Phyllis’ bedroom since he’s done it in relationships before.
Phyllis has frustrations of her own that could lead her back to Nick’s bed as well, so maybe these exes will land in sizzling territory again.
