The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) love triangle will start to shift now that she knows she’s carrying Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) baby. Sally doesn’t want this news to affect her relationship with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), but it inevitably will.
Of course, we can’t help but notice how unfair the writing’s been toward Adam.
It’s true that Adam hurt Sally, but he always had good intentions and obviously loves Sally with all his heart.
Even so, Adam is made out to be some sinister monster while Sally puts Nick on a pedestal. Nick is Mr. Wonderful who can seemingly do no wrong in Sally’s eyes, so maybe it’s time to change that.
Although Nick is traditionally a good guy, that doesn’t mean he’s perfect.
Nick has certainly had his fair share of cheating scandals, prison stints, temper tantrums and more.
It wasn’t that long ago that Nick punched Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and that led to his death.
Nick was protecting Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and didn’t intend to kill Ashland, but is that really all that different from some of the mistakes Adam’s made?
Nevertheless, Sally views Nick as the safer choice, so that’s undoubtedly why she’s fighting so hard to hang onto their romance.
As this pregnancy progresses, Sally might start to see more positive qualities in Adam – and we can only hope she might see some negative ones in Nick, too.
It’d be great if Y&R writers could flip the script a bit and show off other sides of the Newman brothers.
At some point, Nick might betray Sally somehow – either by cheating or letting Sally down in some other way.
Meanwhile, Adam could surprise Sally by truly stepping up and proving he can be the man she deserves.
Perhaps Sally will ultimately realize Nick isn’t the perfect man and see that flawed Adam could be a better match.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally may make some updates to her attitude as this storyline moves along, so stay tuned to the CBS soap.
