The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, August 25, reveals that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will pass along some instructions as Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) officially takes over as the new manager of Crimson Lights.
Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will worry about Esther taking on too much since she’s still working part-time at Chancellor-Winters, but Esther will assure Chloe that she can handle it.
After Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) pulls Sharon aside for a strategy session, they’ll discuss Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) desire to fold SNA Media into Newman Media. Sharon will have concerns about there not being much of Kirsten Incorporated left once Victor guts it.
There’ll also be some worries about Adam and his obsession with power, so it won’t be long until Sharon and Nick are on their way over to Adam’s place for a meeting with him.
In the meantime, Adam will confront Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) about his own meeting with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at the ranch.
Although Adam will be suspicious of Victor’s motives, Nate will act like Adam needs to take the win since merging SNA Media with Newman Media is what he wanted.
Afterward, Nate will give Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) updates on the situation, so she’ll worry about being pushed out of the picture if this merger indeed happens. That’ll lead to Audra deciding that she should take a page out of Adam’s playbook and fight for what she wants.
At the ranch, Audra will arrive to toot her own horn about the profits being up at Newman Media since she took over. After Audra reveals that she heard about the merger, she’ll play up her success and hope to find out where things stand for her.
Victor will suggest it’s pretty brazen to come in there making demands, but he’ll actually kind of like that Audra did. Once Victor suggests Audra is good for business, he’ll make it clear that there’ll be a place for her at Newman Enterprises – no matter how all this shakes out.
In the park, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will bump into Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) as they’re processing some difficult news from Aria Porter-Copeland’s (Maddie and Millie Ingle) pediatrician.
After some tests, the doctor determined that Aria could have severe hearing loss. If the problem is with the outer ear, then it’s treatable.
However, a problem with the inner ear could be permanent. Tessa and Mariah will fret as they confirm that they’ve made an appointment with a specialist.
Elena will try to reassure Mariah and Tessa about Aria’s condition as they discuss treatment options. Until they can find out something for sure, Elena will advise the new parents not to worry themselves sick.
Talk will turn to Elena, who’ll admit she’s been picking up extra shifts and doing additional research at the hospital to keep busy. Tessa and Mariah will warn Elena about the risk of burnout, so she’ll promise not to let that happen.
Elena will feel like she’s past the pain and anger of her breakup, so she’ll be glad to have Nate out of her system.
At the GCAC on Friday’s Y&R episode, Audra will meet back up with Nate, who’ll be impressed once he hears how her meeting with Victor went.
Nate will seem like he’s flirting with Audra as he showers her with praise, so Elena will look suspicious of the close moment between them as she spots them together.
Back at the ranch, Nikki will make it clear that she doesn’t trust Audra any more than she trusts Nate. Nevertheless, Victor will like Audra’s ambition and wonder if maybe she’s the one he should be mentoring.
While Nikki keeps trying to sound the alarm regarding Nate and Audra, Mariah and Tessa will show up looking for Sharon at the coffeehouse. Esther will be there instead and will end up loudly declaring that she’s the new manager.
When Aria starts crying over Esther’s noisy declaration, it’ll leave Tessa and Mariah looking hopeful.
At Adam’s condo, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will show up to discuss the details of the job offer Adam made her. Adam will quickly realize Nick doesn’t know yet, so Sally will admit she didn’t want him to influence her decision.
Plus, Sally will have questions about the position before they go any further. Adam will end up informing Sally that SNA Media is being folded into Newman Media, so he’ll want to take charge and have her help him run it.
Sally will remind Adam that he was supposed to have a partnership with Adam and Sharon, but he’ll feel like that’s never going to work and will suggest Victor thinks there are too many cooks in the kitchen.
Once Sharon and Nick arrive, Adam will let them in. Nick won’t be pleased about Sally meeting with Adam about the job offer without giving him a heads-up.
That said, Nick will get that Sally wanted to make the decision on her own. As usual, Nick will put the blame on Adam and insist he’s the one who should’ve informed him along with Sharon about a potential new hire.
Once Sally leaves, she’ll meet up with Chloe and fear that maybe things have gotten too complicated when it comes to the SNA Media mess.
As for Adam, he’ll tell Nick and Sharon that the logical move is for him to take over after SNA Media is folded into Newman Media.
Sharon will pipe up about how she still owns Kirsten Incorporated and will object to Adam thinking he should be in charge just because he ran Newman Media at one point.
No matter what the company is called following the merger, Sharon and Nick will agree they need to stick to the plan of running it as co-CEOs.
Adam will ask why Nick and Sharon would even want that since he was such a constant source of aggravation. Nick will push Adam to get his ambition in check or else Adam is going to destroy everything they’ve accomplished.
