The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 31, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will invite everyone at the ranch to share their vision for the future, so Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will fantasize that he’s the new CEO of Newman Media and that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is his COO.
Victor will be proud of Adam in this fantasy, but Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will end up decking him before Adam snaps out of it.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will have a fantasy over her own that involves Adam apologizing for all his mistakes and deciding to move forward as a united team. However, Sharon will come back to the real world and insist she wants out.
Victor will warn that Sharon will be reneging on her contract if that happens, but she’ll insist she doesn’t trust Adam and will have doubts about Victor as well.
When Victor refuses to let Kirsten Incorporated go, Nick will act like he’s only being stubborn because he hates to lose.
Victor will defend it as a good business move, but Sharon will make it clear that she’s going to get an attorney and fight Victor in court.
After Sharon storms out, Nick will imagine ripping into Victor about SNA Media being another cog in the Newman machine. Unfortunately, Nick will assume this is a waste of time and that Victor’s just going to do what he wants anyway.
Once all the fantasy scenarios are over, Victor will bring Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in on this meeting at the ranch.
Nikki will be invited to speak, so she’ll blast Adam for constantly disappointing Victor and will push Nick to make a firm decision when it comes to the family business.
If Victor puts Adam in charge, Nikki will warn that she’ll be angrier than he’s ever seen her. After Nikki reminds Victor that Adam has blown opportunity after opportunity, she’ll insist this has to stop.
Victor will finally announce that Nikki will be the CEO of Newman Media once the merger’s complete while Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) slides into the COO spot.
As for Nick, Victor will want him to return to Newman Enterprises and be Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) co-CEO. Adam will realize that leaves him with nothing, so he’ll rant about Victor forcing him to perform and humiliating him.
Although Victor will act like Adam left him no choice, Adam will warn that his father’s going to regret this. When Victor tells Adam not to make idle threats, Adam will contend that his threats are very real.
After Adam stomps off, Nikki will admit she needs time to think about whether she’ll accept the Newman Media CEO position. Nick will want to speak with Victoria about all this first, but he’ll think putting Nikki in charge is a great call.
Once Nick finds Sharon at Crimson Lights, she’ll be leaving a voicemail for Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) in hopes of scoring legal advice and an attorney.
When Nick asks if Sharon is really going to take this to court, she’ll vow to do it if she has to.
Nick will also offer updates on Victor doing what he should’ve done a long time ago and will reveal that he kicked Adam to the curb!
While Nick explains that Adam is out at Newman Media, Adam will seethe back at his place. Since Victor wants a war, Adam will declare that he’s going to give him one.
Back with Victor on Thursday’s Y&R episode, he’ll pummel his punching bag and insist no one defeats him!
