The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will do everything he can to help clear Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) name, so that might include holding a special Jabot press conference.
After all, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) has been concerned about Jabot’s CEO being engaged to a woman accused of murder.
Diane has Jabot ties of her own since she works in PR, so Ashley feels like this could turn into a media disaster for the company.
That’s why Jack might want to take the reins and change the narrative in the news, especially as evidence of Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) survival piles up.
Thanks to DNA proof that Phyllis was in Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) motel room after her supposed death, Jack and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will have some evidence to convince Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) that she’s actually alive.
Y&R spoilers say Chance will discover some other clues during the week of May 22-26, so he’ll become increasingly certain that Phyllis is still out there somewhere.
Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) is worried about the consequences Phyllis might face if she returns to Genoa City, but the alternative might be never seeing her mother again.
Jack and Kyle may ultimately convince Summer that they need her help to tug at Phyllis’ heartstrings – and the same goes for Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei).
It’s easy to imagine Jack holding a big press conference where he announces Diane is innocent and that she was the victim of a setup.
Jack could then let Summer and Daniel make an emotional plea into the camera in hopes of bringing Phyllis home.
Daniel and Summer’s joint speech could make Stark out to be the real baddie in all of this. Perhaps Summer and Daniel will insist they can all figure this out together if Phyllis will just come out of hiding.
Phyllis’ children are her weak spot, so would Daniel and Summer’s public plea be enough to trigger her return to GC?
Jack may think it’s at least worth a shot since having Phyllis back in the flesh would be the best defense strategy of all!
Diane will definitely get off the hook for murder whenever Phyllis inevitably shows back up alive, so stay tuned for updates on what’s next.
