The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has been spending some time off-screen with Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) while most of her family is dealing with some wild turmoil in Oregon.
The trouble started when Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) lured Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) into a trap at the lake house, where she’s been given a steady supply of vodka.
That led to Claire luring Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to the lake house as well.
Now Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) is moving forward with her plot to avenge her sister, Eve Howard (Margaret Mason), so that’ll lead to some poison shockers and the revelation that Claire is Victoria’s long-lost daughter!
Can you imagine Summer’s reaction once she gets updates on everything that went down?
Summer will be livid when she realizes Claire earned their grandmother’s trust and then tormented Nikki in captivity.
Nikki has been drunk, terrified and all alone, so Summer will hate what her grandma’s been through.
Of course, there’ll be some concerns about Nick, Victor and Victoria too due to the poisoned water bottles from Jordan.
That could bring some life-threatening ordeals, so Summer will be outraged on her dad, grandpa and aunt’s behalf.
The good news is all the Newmans will survive Jordan and Claire’s reign of terror.
The bad news is Summer will have to deal with the fact that Claire is the newest member of the Newman family!
Claire has a permanent tie to the Newmans since she’s the daughter that Victoria and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) thought passed away as a baby.
Now that Y&R’s undoing that demise, Victoria will most likely try to bond with Claire – at least once she wiggles out of the legal jam that this nightmare will create.
That may not go over well with Summer, who could form a new rivalry with Claire soon enough.
At some point, Summer will have an opportunity to meet Claire and unleash her fury over all the family horror.
If Y&R decides to do a Summer, Kyle and Claire love triangle down the road, that could certainly add to this rivalry idea.
It seems like a natural path to drama that the writers could lean into.
In the meantime, The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Summer may stand against Claire and any attempt Victoria might eventually make to welcome her to the family!
