The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 5, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will make an urgent doctor’s appointment and worry Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has overheard her phone call at Crimson Lights.
However, Adam will insist he heard nothing and just wanted to check on Sally since she looked like she was hiding from someone.
Sally will act like Adam should mind his own business and will keep snapping at him as he tries to offer support.
Once Sally realizes she’s taking her bad mood out on Adam, she’ll apologize and note that she’s just overwhelmed right now.
Sally will blame it on work and seem appreciative of Adam’s offer to be there if she ever needs to talk.
Of course, Sally won’t spill anything about her doctor’s appointment, which will confirm her pregnancy news.
Back at Sally’s suite later, she’ll look at a paper with info regarding her first trimester and wonder what she’s going to do now.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) will admit to feeling some guilt about last night, but she won’t regret it since she’ll feel happier and lighter than she has in a long time.
Devon will agree with Abby as they embrace before she plans to head home – though she won’t think the Chancellor mansion really feels like home anymore now that she’s no longer a Chancellor.
At Chancellor-Winters, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will finish a call with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and voice her excitement to Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) about Jill pulling the trigger on the IPO.
When Devon arrives and gets updates, he’ll feel like he’s being excluded and once again complain since he doesn’t support the IPO decision.
Audra’s phone will make a weird chime before she steps out and lets Devon talk to Lily alone.
Lily will point out that she’s siding with Jill – and that gives them the majority here.
Unless Devon can come up with a legitimate reason why this IPO shouldn’t happen, Lily will think it’s the best thing for the company.
At The Glam Club, Daniel Romalotti Jr (Michael Graziadei) will get a text back from Heather Stevens (Jennifer Landon), who’ll admit Lucy Romalotti still needs time.
Soon after, Abby will catch up with Daniel and realize his family isn’t in Genoa City with him.
Daniel will seem uncomfortable as he acts unsure of when that might change.
Abby will mention her split from Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) before Daniel leaves for a meeting with Lily.
Once Abby’s alone, she’ll remove her wedding ring and look pensive over her bare finger.
Back at Crimson Lights, Lily will sense that Daniel is troubled and will insist she’d never judge him.
Daniel will talk about making mistakes in Savannah – including how he let his jealousy and insecurity take over.
After Daniel reveals how he pushed Heather and Lucy away, he’ll hope this gaming division can prove he’s not a lost cause.
Lily will offer a brief pep talk before mentioning an appointment she’s nervous about.
As she heads for the exit, Lily will look at Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) text about being in the parking lot of the therapist’s office.
Billy will ask if Lily’s on her way, so she’ll leave to join him.
In Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) suite, he’ll argue with Audra about the IPO taking so long.
Audra won’t know if she can convince Devon since he’s right to be paranoid, but Tucker will be adamant about working alongside his son.
After Audra suggests Tucker should take Devon’s frame of mind into consideration and find some other way to make it happen, she’ll want to get back to her meeting to avoid raising suspicions.
There’ll be tension on both sides as Audra slams the door.
At Society, Tucker will spot Devon looking upset and wonder what the problem is.
Devon won’t want to get into the details, but he’ll admit it’s about the IPO and his concerns about losing autonomy.
Tucker will point out that Devon could always take Hamilton-Winters back from Chancellor-Winters – and he’ll hint that he might be just the guy to help him with that.
Devon will agree to give it some thought before noticing Tucker’s unique phone chime – the same one Devon heard on Audra’s phone earlier.
Tucker will claim it came with the phone before Devon heads outside.
Once Devon makes a call, he’ll urge someone to find all the information they can about a connection between Tucker McCall and Audra Charles.
At Jabot, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will insist she wants to speak with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), but she’ll rethink having the Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) talk now and will offer a bogus excuse.
Even so, Kyle will pick up on the fact that Summer is acting frosty toward Diane, who’ll insist on going to her Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) meeting alone tonight and won’t think Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) needs to get involved.
Summer will eavesdrop as Diane says she’s as tough and wily as people accuse her of being.
Although Diane doesn’t have to rely on those skills as much these days, she’ll assure Kyle that she hasn’t lost her touch and has everything under control.
Next on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Kyle will speak with Summer privately and acknowledge that she’s got a problem with Diane.
Summer will admit things are tense, so she’ll need a break from Genoa City.
Once Summer mentions a textile show in Paris, she’ll reveal she wants to go – and she’ll want to take Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) with her.
At the Abbott house, Jack and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will once again fight about whether Diane can be trusted.
Ashley will think Diane is putting on a “poor me” act and will suggest she’s trying to get into Jack’s bed.
Jack will argue that if Ashley’s so concerned with who he entertains in his home, maybe she should stay elsewhere.
Ashley will fire back that it’s her home as well, so Jack will clarify that he’s not throwing her out.
Ashley will make it clear that she won’t be forced out because of Jack’s “sick fixation” on Diane.
In fact, Ashley will insist that Jabot belongs to her too and will gripe about Diane’s job since she never got a say on that.
Ashley will warn that as far as she’s concerned, Diane will never be welcome in the Abbott home or in the family company – not ever!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will continue to cause major Abbott drama, so stay tuned to Y&R.
