The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, January 17 Recap – Diane Frames Jeremy – Chance’s Chicago PD Call

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 17, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will come up with a way to accelerate Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) takedown, so he’ll fill Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in offscreen and get her approval.

At Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will corner Jeremy to ask what his game is and will assume he’s either using Diane or working Jack with her.

Jeremy will refuse to offer any info, but he’ll hint about knowing where his loyalty lies by the end of the day.

After Diane calls and sets up a private meeting with Jeremy, he’ll turn his attention back to Phyllis.

Jeremy will warn Phyllis not to push him and will insist he’s better as a friend than an enemy.

When Daniel Romalotti Jr (Michael Graziadei) arrives, he’ll listen to more of Phyllis’ usual Diane ranting and urge her to let it go.

In fact, Daniel will admit he’s questioning his decision to hire Phyllis since he needs positive people on his team.

Phyllis will ask if Daniel is firing her before the project ever gets off the ground, but he’ll hint that there might not even be a project now.

Regardless, Daniel will think Phyllis needs to tame her anger and will push his mom to check into some self-help books.

Back with Jack, he’ll talk to Diane about step one being done and will prepare to tackle the next step himself.

When Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) appear, they’ll bicker before Jack and Diane talk about combining some steps of the scheme to move things along.

Summer won’t want any details and will head to work, so Kyle will be frustrated.

Later, Kyle will act like Summer’s adding to his stress since she’s on one side and his parents are on the other.

However, Summer will refuse to apologize for not wanting them caught up in another mess.

Daniel will walk in on the argument and wonder what’s up, but Kyle will let him talk to Summer alone.

Instead of diving into her marriage drama, Summer will get updates on Phyllis.

Daniel will admit he told Phyllis to sort out her anger issues or else they can’t work together.

Summer will think the best thing they can do is duck and cover at this point. From Summer’s perspective, they’ll just have to hope they don’t get pulled into the path of Phyllis’ tornado.

Once Kyle overhears, he’ll ask if Summer was talking about Diane or Phyllis.

Summer will admit she was referring to her own mother, but she’ll point out it could easily apply to Diane, too.

Kyle won’t think that’s a fair comparison and will be annoyed when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) texts about their potential Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) plot.

All that’ll be on Kyle’s mind is getting Diane to the other side of her plan unharmed.

At Society again on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) will approach Phyllis, so she’ll vent about how she’d be tarred and feathered for the things Diane has done.

Tucker will suggest Phyllis would be better off taking the path of least resistance and will warn about her anger eating her alive.

Phyllis will ask what happened to the guy who wanted to burn it all down and will admit she found him more interesting.

In Jeremy’s suite, Diane will present the stolen necklace, which Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was pictured wearing at various events and galas.

There’ll also be an engraving, so Jeremy will believe it’s indeed Nikki’s and will want to know how Diane stole it.

Diane will offer just enough info to sell the rest of the story, so Jeremy will suggest they should steal from other rich and powerful players in Genoa City – starting with Phyllis.

However, Diane will convince Jeremy that robbing all her enemies would be a quick way to get caught.

After Diane insists she won’t steal from the Abbotts either, she’ll urge Jeremy to see that they have to look at a long-term strategy.

Jeremy will urge Diane to turn around, so she’ll seem a little concerned as he pushes her to trust him.

Fortunately, Jeremy will simply want to put the necklace on Diane and kick off their celebration.

When Jeremy seeks a kiss to seal their partnership, Diane will give him one.

Jeremy will start taking off his tie for lovemaking, but Diane will pretend she’s allergic to his cologne and get him to take a quick shower first.

That’ll give Diane a chance to hide the necklace in a drawer while Jeremy’s busy in the bathroom.

There’ll also be something else Jack presumably stole from Nikki’s secret compartment, so Diane will remove it from her purse and look for a hiding spot.

Once Diane plants the rest of the evidence under the mattress, she’ll text Jack that they’re all set.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will talk to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) about his desire to be a perfect soldier and how he’s pretended to be somebody else.

It’ll make Chance wonder if he chose that life or if that life chose him.

Chance won’t want a life where he stands to lose so much every minute on the job.

Sharon will suggest maybe going back to therapy and taking a leave of absence from the GCPD to gain a fresh perspective.

After Jack interrupts briefly and takes a seat nearby, Chance will get a surprising call from the Chicago Police Department.

That’ll leave Jack eager to listen in on the conversation.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack and Diane’s frame-up will come with more risks, so that could lead to terrible news if they aren’t careful!
