The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, January 31 Recap – Summer Goes Mama Bear on Diane – Adam Suspects Sally’s Secret

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 31, teases that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will corner Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in his office and warn that his dad’s relationship with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) could be what blows up their family.

After Kyle worries about Diane reverting to old patterns and running away again, Jack will offer reassurance.

Even if things don’t work out, Jack will promise that both Kyle’s parents will be there for him and that his family will never change.

At the Abbott house, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will admit to Diane that she doesn’t want to see Jack get hurt or Kyle caught in the fallout.

Although Summer will feel certain things will go wrong, Diane will act like Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is the only thing standing in the way of her happiness with Jack.

Summer will accuse Diane of trying to find a scapegoat in advance, but Diane will deny that.

After Summer points out she has Mama bear tendencies like Phyllis, Diane will take it as a warning.

At Society, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will struggle to understand why Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) canceled their meeting so abruptly, but Sally will assume it had something to do with her past.

Once the conversation shifts to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Sally will worry that things could change between them.

Chloe will mention “the Adam possibility” right as Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) arrives to ask what that means.

Sally will cover by acting like Chloe meant the possibility of Adam luring her onto another rooftop for a reunion. That’ll confuse Adam since Sally made it clear they were over, so he’ll ask if something changed for her.

Sally will insist they agreed they don’t belong together, but Adam will still seem curious as he heads for the bar.

After Sally frets over what’ll happen once she starts showing, Chloe will reassure her about wearing flowy clothes and having time to come up with a plan.

That said, Chloe will warn that Adam is keenly aware of things and is the most suspicious person she’s ever met.

At Newman Enterprises, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will confess to Nick that he gave Jill an honest assessment of Sally’s qualifications. Whatever happened to Sally was her own doing from Victor’s perspective.

Victor will act like Sally’s to blame for Adam’s problems, but Nick will insist Adam was the one dragging Sally down instead.

When Victor says Adam is sleepwalking through his job at Jabot, Nick will ask if his dad’s been spying.

That’ll lead to Nick warning against more of Victor’s usual manipulation since it never works.

Now that Victor’s obsession is spilling over onto Sally, Nick will play hardball.

If Victor continues to harass Sally “given everything,” then Nick will hint about taking drastic action.

Nick will warn Victor not to make him choose between Sally and this company, but Victor will pick up on that “given everything” clue and wonder what his son’s not telling him.

After Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) interrupts, she’ll speak with Victor alone about all the Sally drama and urge him to focus on work instead.

It turns out Victoria will have news since her people did more digging into Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) finances.

Victoria will reveal that Tucker’s lenders are growing impatient since he’s often late on payments and sometimes doesn’t make them at all.

Once Victoria points out that they’ll own Tucker if they buy up his debt, Victor will praise her for thinking like her father.

Back at Society, Nick will give Sally a kiss and a hug as they meet up.

Adam will glare as Nick joins Sally at a table, where Nick will give her a pep talk and push her not to stress.

While Sally takes a phone call from her doctor, Nick will mosey over to Adam at the bar and give him a heads-up about Victor trying to lure him back to Newman.

Once Nick hints about Victor trying to sabotage Adam at Jabot, Adam will note that he’s already heard rumblings.

However, Adam will question why Nick’s telling him this and will assume it’s because Nick doesn’t want him back at Newman Enterprises.

Nick will admit he doesn’t before Sally hangs up and looks over at both brothers.

At The Grand Phoenix, Tucker will realize Phyllis is headed to Portugal and will quiz her since that’s where Daniel Romalotti Jr’s (Michael Graziadei) family is.

Phyllis will insist it’s none of Tucker’s business and push him to leave Daniel alone.

Nevertheless, Tucker will act like it’d be a mistake to ignore the hottest project in town. Phyllis will find herself wondering why Tucker seems so desperate for a win.

After Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) unloads her Chancellor-Winters frustrations, Daniel will offer to let her off the hook on his project.

If his gaming platform is another burden, Daniel will contend that Lily could lighten the load.

Lily will insist she wants to work with Daniel on Omegasphere and will urge him to just give her a week like they talked about. Daniel will assure Lily that he trusts her, so she’ll admit she needed to hear that.

Once Lily’s alone, she’ll contemplate getting in touch with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) before bailing on the idea.

When Daniel shows up at The Grand Phoenix, Tucker will offer to buy him a drink and explain in more detail why McCall Unlimited is where Daniel needs to be.

Back at the Abbott house on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Phyllis will give Summer updates on her Portugal trip to fix Daniel’s relationship.

Summer will try to talk Phyllis out of it, but Phyllis will push her daughter to cover for her and keep Tucker away while she’s gone.

Once Diane finds Jack at Jabot, she’ll mention having an unsettling conversation with Summer.

Jack will fill Diane in on Kyle’s lingering abandonment issues, but they’ll agree to be there for their son no matter what happens.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack and Diane’s future will inevitably come with some speed bumps, so stay tuned to Y&R!
