The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will continue to stir up trouble in Genoa City. After getting fired over her link to Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), Audra will be forced to move on from Chancellor-Winters.
However, GC is starting to feel like home, so Audra would rather stick around than uproot herself again.
Fortunately, Audra still has connections she can use to her advantage.
In the January 9 episode, Audra will mislead Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) about how she parted ways with Chancellor-Winters.
Nate will be under the impression that Audra simply fulfilled her duty as an IPO expert and is ready for her next challenge.
Although there’ll be more candidates that just Audra, Nate will offer her the chance to apply for the COO position at Newman Media.
There are a few different ways this storyline could go once Audra vies for the spot.
It’s possible Audra’s deception will cost her if Nate doesn’t like the fact that she deceived him about her firing.
On the other hand, Nate might decide he doesn’t blame Audra for spinning things under the circumstances.
Regardless, Nate can’t really fault Audra for helping with a Chancellor-Winters takeover plot since he did the same thing.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) could be a different story if she doesn’t trust Audra and perhaps senses she could be romantic competition.
Nate already has Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) for a girlfriend, but Victoria may realize Audra’s got her eye on Nate, too. That could spark some jealousy and make Victoria question Nate’s potential COO choice.
Even if Audra scores the position, there’s no guarantee she’ll keep it.
Nate is bound to make a mistake at some point since Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) concerns about him have been so ominous.
Hiring Audra could become Nate’s undoing if she makes a mess of things.
Audra certainly seems like the vengeful type, so what happens if she’s passed over for this COO job or perhaps gets fired from it later?
That could bring Audra’s revenge and a chance at leverage.
Y&R spoilers say Nate and Victoria will get too close for comfort in the coming weeks, so that’ll bring late nights at the office and a growing bond.
Audra might become privy to some cheating and turn this into a blackmail plot, especially if she’s able to record some evidence.
Maybe Audra could threaten to blow up Nate’s relationship with Elena and launch a news scandal for Victoria as Newman Enterprises’ CEO.
There must be a reason for Y&R wanting Audra to get tangled up in all the Newman drama, so Nate may regret trusting her in the end!
