The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 22, teases that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will be pleased when she gets updates on Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) offering to sell McCall Unlimited to Newman Enterprises. It’ll leave Audra surprised her strategy was so effective.
However, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will interrupt Audra’s discussion with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to reveal that someone mysterious bought up all Tucker’s debt.
Victoria will ask if Audra knows who it is and will question if Audra might be working for somebody else.
After Audra denies it, Victoria will send her on another mission to figure out who bought up Tucker’s debt and why.
Audra will get on board before noticing that Victoria and Nate seem to have a vibe going on, so she’ll call Nate out once Victoria leaves.
Nate will insist Victoria is simply a friend that he has a close working relationship with. Audra will hope that’s true since it’d be risky and foolish for Nate to engage in a romance with Victoria.
Nate will maintain that he’s in a relationship with the woman he loves and argue that any other vibes are a figment of Audra’s imagination.
Although Audra will agree to pretend this conversation never happened, she’ll still seem suspicious of Nate and Victoria’s connection as she leaves.
Once Tucker follows Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) to Society and demands answers about her game plan, she’ll suggest he can start by calling off his deal with Newman.
Ashley will hint about somebody making Tucker a better offer, so he’ll realize she’s bringing in another player.
At Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) apartment, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will arrive after being summoned for Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) homework crisis.
Connor will be working on a family tree, so he’ll need help with positive descriptions for each Newman.
With assistance from Chelsea, Adam will be forced to say positive things about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and his siblings.
When it comes to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Adam will highlight that he’s a good father.
In a moment alone with Chelsea, Adam will admit he quit working at Jabot.
After Adam mentions Victor’s vague job offer, he’ll explain how he tried to get Victoria’s job instead.
Although Adam knew Victor would never go for the idea, he’ll insist he had to give it another try.
Chelsea will feel like Adam needs to think long and hard before he goes back to Newman since he was miserable there, but Adam will joke that maybe misery is his destiny.
Since Chelsea won’t believe that, she’ll encourage Adam to put the work in and make changes.
After Chelsea talks about Adam being an amazing dad, they’ll agree that they’ll always do what’s best for Connor no matter what.
In Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) suite, she’ll read the DNA results and wonder what to do now.
Sally will tell Nick that maybe the test is wrong, but he’ll push her to accept that his DNA isn’t a match.
Once Sally wraps her head around Adam being the father, she’ll know this changes everything whether they want it to or not.
Nick will suggest that sometimes change is good and will add that Sally now has an important decision to make.
After Sally wonders how she’s going to tell Adam, she’ll call him while he’s at Chelsea’s apartment.
Adam will agree to come right over, but he’ll be a little annoyed to run into Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) on his way out.
Billy will give Connor a new video game that he’s been wanting, so that’ll lead to some talk about Daniel Romalotti Jr’s (Michael Graziadei) new gaming platform.
Connor will learn how the game helps people, so he’ll think it’d be cool if Chelsea could work at the platform.
That’ll lead to Chelsea deciding she’ll talk to Daniel and maybe see how she can get involved.
Back in Sally’s suite, she’ll tell Nick that she has to tell Adam the news face to face – and she’ll want to do it on her own.
Later, Adam will arrive and admit he’s curious why Sally called him.
Sally will confess that she’s pregnant with Adam’s baby and will confirm that the paternity test ruled out Nick.
Adam won’t know what to say, but Sally will feel the need to remind him that this changes nothing emotionally.
Naturally, Adam will disagree and warn that he’s not going to walk away from his child.
Although Adam will briefly worry that Sally’s planning a custody battle, she’ll insist she won’t deny him a connection to his child.
Sally will just want Adam to understand this isn’t an opening to get back together.
Adam will ask if Sally won’t even consider giving this baby a loving family because she’s still with Nick.
Sally will insist it’s because their relationship ran its course instead. The day they conceived was the same day Adam and Sally agreed to end things.
Sally will maintain that there’s no future for them and will add that Adam’s baby doesn’t change that crucial fact.
Afterward, a dazed Adam will bump into Chelsea and Billy at Crimson Lights.
When Chelsea wonders what’s wrong, Adam will admit nothing should be – but everything is!
At Newman Enterprises, Nick will fill Victoria in on Adam being the father of Sally’s child.
Once Nick admits it “sucks,” he’ll feel like he lost something he never had in the first place.
Next on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Victoria will bring Nick up to speed on someone else buying Tucker’s debt, but she won’t be ready to admit defeat on her takeover plan.
After Sally calls Nick and confirms that she told Adam, he’ll rush back over to comfort her.
Sally will cry in Nick’s arms as she continues to wrestle with complex emotions.
Once Victoria gets in touch with Tucker and says she’s ready to negotiate, he’ll head to her office with bad news.
Tucker will insist he won’t be able strike a deal due to unforeseen circumstances, but Victoria won’t think the outside debt buyer should affect his decision to sell McCall Unlimited to Newman.
Nevertheless, Tucker will contend that Victoria’s wrong since everything in his life is in flux.
