The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 4, teases that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will find Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) at The Glam Club, where they’ll discuss Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) return and complain about her manipulation.
When Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) interrupts, Phyllis will act like she’s too hurt to talk to her right now.
Summer will stand her ground and insist on apologizing privately, but Phyllis will feel like she’s been treated like trash since her daughter keeps believing Diane over her.
Daniel Romalotti Jr (Michael Graziadei) will pop up and suggest a round of drinks for all three of them, but Phyllis will take off. Summer will stick around to vent to Daniel, who’ll get updates on the Diane situation and Phyllis’ role in bringing Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) to town.
However, Summer will acknowledge that Jeremy is a criminal who would’ve tracked Diane down anyway.
Since Summer will feel like she can be honest with Daniel, she’ll unleash everything she’s been bottling up and confess she’s just been going along with whatever Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) wants for the sake of her marriage.
Summer will rant about deserving an award for all the acting she’s had to do – to pull off this massive production that makes Diane out to be the victim.
Daniel will assure Summer that he’s always there to listen, but he’ll also feel like she never should’ve held back in the first place.
The fact that Summer’s had to lie to keep her marriage solid will concern Daniel.
Summer will admit she doesn’t know how much longer Kyle can ignore the havoc Diane creates before his blindness about his mother starts to come between them.
Diane’s non-stop misery will definitely be taking a toll on Kyle and Summer’s relationship – even if Kyle doesn’t realize it yet!
At the Abbott house, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will be on edge over Diane’s plan, so she’ll wonder if he’s worried that she won’t be able to pull it off – or that she will.
Jack won’t think it matters how he feels, but he’ll clearly be uneasy about the whole scheme.
Diane will urge Jack to leave his personal feelings out of it and focus on making the plan work.
After Diane says her job is to make Jeremy think he’s in control, she’ll want to get back to the hotel to make this convincing.
Jack will push Diane to stay at the Abbott house and will think she can convince Jeremy that she did it to make sure he paid the other half of the money.
Nevertheless, Diane will insist on moving back in her suite and doing things her way.
Kyle will join the conversation and express concerns of his own, but Diane will want Jeremy to believe she moved out of her apartment hideout and back into The Grand Phoenix.
Diane will plan to tell Jeremy that she’s worked too hard to abandon her son and grandson now – that way, she won’t be cut off from them while this plan’s underway.
Of course, Diane will also need to make Jeremy believe she’s capable of running scams with him while keeping her loved ones out of the loop.
Once Diane pushes Jack and Kyle to trust her, she’ll insist this has to work since it’s the only way she can be part of this family.
After Diane leaves, Jack and Kyle will worry about Phyllis being a wildcard now that she’s all riled up again.
Kyle will hope Summer can put out the fire, but Jack won’t have any sympathy for Phyllis since she goes to extremes without considering the consequences.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will allow Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) to have another visit with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware), but she’ll want to be present for it.
Tucker will acknowledge Abby’s lack of trust in a moment alone and will get that it must be earned.
That said, Tucker will hope Abby can offer neutrality since she’s going to in Devon’s life forever.
Abby will wonder what that’s supposed to mean, but Tucker will clarify that Devon and Abby are forever intertwined through their connection to Dominic.
Overall, Abby will manage to be a bit more pleasant than usual to Tucker, who’ll eventually head out.
Devon will appreciate Abby’s willingness to let Dominic and Grandpa Tucker bond so they’ll agree more love is a good thing for their son.
Abby will eventually admit things feel so uncomplicated and right when she’s with Devon, who’ll feel the same way.
After a hot kiss, Devon will confess that he wants Abby to stay – and she’ll assure him that she wants to stay, too.
Once Abby and Devon strip down, Y&R spoilers say they’ll make love on the sofa.
In Diane’s suite, Tucker will change his voice and act like Jeremy is at the door, but he’ll chuckle as he reveals the truth.
After she opens up, Diane will call Tucker a “son of a bitch” and suggest he should “go to hell” when he assumes she’s moving to the Abbott house.
Tucker will admit he needs to know when Jeremy is leaving, so Diane will question why.
Once Tucker says he’s got big plans, he’ll insist he wants Jeremy gone so he doesn’t mess them up.
Diane will complain about Tucker spilling Jeremy details to Ashley and making her toxic to the Abbott family.
Although Diane will act like she’s lost Jack, Tucker will think she’s got him wrapped around her finger.
In fact, Tucker will think he could learn a thing or two from Diane. As Tucker exits, he’ll hope that they both get the Abbotts of their dreams!
At Crimson Lights, Tucker will find a lonely and frustrated Phyllis leaving Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) a voicemail.
That’ll leave Tucker feeling like Phyllis must need someone to talk to.
Phyllis will reject Tucker’s offer initially, but he’ll point out that they don’t have to be friends to form a mutually beneficial relationship.
After Diane unpacks her stuff and moves back in her suite, she’ll give Jack and Kyle the news at the Abbott house. Although Kyle will hate this plan, he’ll assure Diane that he’s got her back and will help however he can.
Jack will privately encourage Diane to rely on him and let her guard down when she needs to.
When Ashley finds Diane and Jack in a close moment, she’ll confront them about what’s going on.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane’s presence will lead to even more problems in Genoa City, so stay tuned.
