The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, July 5, reveal that Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) will meet with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) to discuss something important. It looks like it’ll involve living arrangements since Devon is about to make some new ones.
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) recently caught Devon and Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) off guard with an intriguing idea.
Since Chance doesn’t need the giant Chancellor mansion all to himself, he suggested he could get an apartment near the GCPD.
Chance offered the Chancellor manse to Abby and Devon instead since it was Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) first house.
It’s somewhere Dom loves to be, so Abby and Devon will be willing to make the move.
Dominic gets fussy when he’s forced to switch places too often, so the goal is to establish one home base where he’s comfortable.
Since that’ll leave Devon’s penthouse vacant, it seems he’ll ask Lily if she wants to move in and make it her home next.
Y&R spoilers say Lily will be taken aback, but it looks like she’ll quickly get on board.
Over with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), he’ll explain a tricky situation and leave Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) facing a tough work dilemma.
Kyle won’t back down when it comes to Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) moving out and won’t want to work with Summer at Marchetti either.
Jack will feel sorry for Summer since she’s losing her marriage and getting her family blown apart.
Summer’s job at Marchetti is all she has left to cling to, so Jack will urge Kyle to let Summer have this one thing and resign instead of her.
Although Kyle will initially be outraged with Jack for siding with Summer over his own son, Jack will insist it’s not like that.
This is just a matter of showing Summer some compassion and doing what’s best for the company, too.
Kyle will cave, so he’ll be willing to offer his resignation and let Summer stay with Marchetti instead of him.
However, there’ll be a problem since Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is now in the co-CEO spot, which means it’s not open for Kyle.
In fact, Jack will warn about the lack of opportunities at Jabot and suggest Marchetti is really the only available path forward for Kyle at the moment.
Kyle will feel like Jack’s trying to trick him into remaining at Marchetti and working things out with Summer, but he’ll be determined to head down a new path – especially once that includes Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Meanwhile, Summer will hope Kyle might change his mind about throwing her out of the Abbott house, but he’ll stick to the plan and leave Summer dreading the next step.
Kyle and Summer owe Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) an explanation, so they’ll fill him in on the separation and the news that they won’t be living as a united family anymore.
