The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Week of April 17 – Chance’s Stunning Clue – Diane’s Legal Nightmare – Nate’s Choice

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of April 17-21 tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will keep a promise he made to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Y&R fans know Jack has repeatedly vowed to protect Diane, so he’ll do whatever it takes to be a man of his word.

Unfortunately, Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) and Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) frame-up will make that task more difficult.

Once the evidence starts piling up against Diane, she might find herself arrested and ultimately stuck in a jail cell.

Jack will seek out Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) for assistance, so he may push her to see that Jeremy is the real culprit.

Since Jack already suspects Jeremy is framing Diane for Phyllis’ murder, he’ll insist Stark is the one who really belongs behind bars.

Christine is serving as the district attorney again, but she may not be as convinced that Diane is innocent.

The planted proof might seem pretty convincing from Christine’s point of view, but Jack will think this whole thing has Jeremy written all over it.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will remain vengeful when it comes to Diane, so that may be why she takes a meeting with an old pal.

There’ll be a familiar face who resurfaces and provides help, so this could connect to Nikki’s reignited Diane destruction efforts.

Over with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), he’ll uncover another stunning clue.

Will Chance find more incriminating Diane evidence to go with the poison bottle that she supposedly purchased?

If Chance would be smart about this, he’d probably realize a woman who pretended to be Taylor Jensen for so many years knows how to cover her tracks.

Diane wouldn’t buy strychnine to kill someone and let it be traced back to her real name.

Furthermore, Diane can’t be some diabolical genius if she’s haphazardly leaving a poison bottle in her alleged victim’s suite.

The evidence just isn’t adding up to a criminal mastermind here.

Jeremy’s setup is sloppy, but Chance may feel obligated to follow the trail of Diane clues anyway – at least until Jeremy and Phyllis’ scheme starts to fall apart.

At some point, Chance might find a truly shocking hint that leads him to believe Phyllis isn’t so dead after all.

That could certainly throw off Chance’s investigation and lead to him taking a closer look at this case.

Next, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will confess something, so it’ll be interesting to find out what he spills and who’s on the receiving end of this admission.

This could tie in with Victor’s plan to acquire McCall Unlimited or another suitable job opportunity for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) since he’s making his son a priority.

As for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), he’ll have to decide what to do about his relationship with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) thanks to Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) ultimatum.

Will Nate pump the brakes on his workplace Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) romance or deliver breakup news to Elena so he can fully pursue Victoria instead?
