“Ethan leaves Olivia behind in Minnesota as he heads to Cairo to pick up his cars and reconnect with his family. Olivia talks to her friend about her marital issues and her struggle to stay true to her vows. Kim comes clean to Amber about Ken.”

In tonight’s Welcome To Plathville episode, Ethan returned to Georgia. He went alone. He originally planned to go with his wife and then he changed that plan because he wanted some quality time with Micah. Only Micah didn’t want to be around Olivia. Olivia also didn’t want to be around Micah.
The whole family had a falling out and Ethan is trapped in the middle. Something that no one acknowledges. This went especially for Moriah. Moriah had a falling out with Olivia.
They agreed to go their separate ways and Moriah must have forgotten her music was in Olivia’s name because she could no longer access her sister-in-law’s account. And so she wrote this horrible email to Olivia threatening to sue her if she didn’t get her music back.
Olivia gave her the music back. She also told Moriah that they were done for good. She washes her hands of Moriah and so Moriah took that to mean she no longer owes Ethan money. She blocked him. She claimed that she needed to get away from his toxic and bullying energy.
Ethan claimed that he just asked her for the money she owes him. Either way, Ethan got blocked. Moriah would later unblock him to say she “forgives” him and he asked for what? He’s never done anything to intentionally hurt his her. Can she say the same of him?
Ethan has actually looked out for his sister after she had a falling out with their parents. He never judged her. He just wants his money back and now Moriah is calling him toxic. She went back to blocking him after he asked what he needed forgiveness for.
Now, Ethan was in Georgia. He was there to get his classic cars that he loved working on. He also wanted to check on his younger siblings. He knows it’s been hard for them since their parents split up. It probably doesn’t help that their mother was already dating.
Ethan also took his trip down to Georgia by himself because he was having problems with Olivia. They disagree on so many things. Religiously, politically, and their general beliefs are no longer aligned. They both wanted large families when they got married.
Only now Ethan doesn’t want kids with someone as different to him as Olivia is. It was a rejection that Olivia hasn’t truly gotten over. She wants kids as well. She doesn’t mind if the kids were like her or him. It only seemed to matter to Ethan. He didn’t want a child if it was going to come out like Olivia.
Or at least that’s how Olivia sees it. She feels rejected. She feels like Ethan doesn’t truly love her and even Ethan is questioning his feelings for her. He asked the camera crew if they can truly love someone so different to them. He hadn’t wanted to bring up his problems with his family.
He basically sided with his dad in the divorce, and he wants nothing to do with his mom. He doesn’t even call her mom anymore. He calls her Kim. He askes where Kim lives. She apparently got an apartment, and the younger kids live with her for part of the week and live with their dad through the other part.
Growing up, the kids all sang at church together. They would put on live performances. Ethan was playing with Micah at the family’s house while Moriah was singing with her sister Lydia at her new place. The sisters were reminiscing about the past performances. They listened to them.
Moriah said she missed that. She missed that and now she can’t have that again. She felt like she created a rift that no one can heal. She felt she trashed her family because she wanted something else and now she can never have that family life ever again.
Moriah even blames herself for her parents’ divorce. She felt she created this rift and she was right. She told other people about Olivia allegedly holding her music hostage. Which wasn’t true. She just forgot that everything was in Olivia’s name and the moment she wanted them back – Olivia gave it to her.
There was no need to say she held the music hostage because she really didn’t. She didn’t wait for Moriah to find a lawyer and then take her to court. She simply offered back the music with no strings attached. She just wants to be done with Moriah’s crap.
She was feeling done with Ethan’s crap as well.. She wanted to talk to him when he gets back. Ethan wanted to talk to her too. He heard Moriah’s story that she’s telling people and he got upset because he knew it was lie.
He may not always agree with Olivia, but he knows she wouldn’t steal someone else’s work. And the other conversation that he needs to have with Olivia is to ask her why she changed so much from the woman he married.
Ethan felt he could build a life with that woman and he’s no longer sure he can with Olivia now.
