In tonight’s 1000-lb Sisters episode, it’s been four weeks since Amy left Michael. She was going to file for divorce, but he beat her to it. He wasn’t even going to fight for their marriage or for their family. She had left him over things he could change and by filing for divorce he was telling her he refuses to change. He now wants out.

Amy wants the same. The only thing they need to dispute was custody. Michael wanted joint custody. He claimed in court that he does a lot for the boys. He pretended to be an active father when the truth was Amy was doing everything. She couldn’t leave those children alone with Michael because he refused to allow it.

Michael once told her to bring the children with her everywhere she goes. He also took away her debit card and credit cards because he didn’t want her to have access to her own money. Or hang out with her family without him and kids. When she left him, she demanded her financial freedom.

This could be why Michael rushed to file for divorce. He probably knew deep down that she didn’t need him for anything. The only thing he was good at was video games. He plays them all the time. Him asking for 50/50 custody was ridiculous because everyone who knows their situation knew he wouldn’t be taking care of the boys.

Michael would have his mother take care of the boys while he continued playing video games. He was a deadbeat dad. He was asking for joint custody to save face and not because he wants to genuinely spend time with his kids.

He lied on that stand. He lied to a judge. He was just a liar. Amy and her family were stunned by his audacity in court. They couldn’t believe Michael would pretend to be an active father when there’s literal footage to disprove that. And so Amy was never going to give him 50/50.

Amy wanted to give him 70/30. Him being the thirty. Amy wanted to be the primary parent because she knew she could handle her children and she truly wants to stay an active part in their lives.

Amy also knew she’d have to fight Michael in court over this. She was doing her best to get her ducks in a row. She was lucky to have the support of her family. Her sister Amanda called Michael for what he was the last time they met. They almost came to blows. Amanda was once married to Michael’s brother and they got a divorce because the men in the family didn’t know what equal partnership meant.

Amanda’s divorce from Jason had wrapped up. She can devote herself to giving Amy the same stellar advice she received. Amy just has to work on not letting everything stress her out so easily.

She should also work on losing weight. No one wanted her to get pregnant so fast. Not her family. Not her doctor. They all wanted Amy to some more weight before going through pregnancy and she ignored their advice. It also didn’t help that she had back to back pregnancies and so she needs to learn to eat healthy again.

There to support her was Tammy. Tammy never thought she’d want kids. Then she had weight loss surgery and now she’s thinking of having a family. Tammy went to her gynecologist.

She hasn’t been to see one since 2011. Her weight was out of control at the time and it would have been too much of a hassle to go to the doctor’s office. Which meant it was difficult to remove her IUD. She should’ve removed it in 2016 and so it has to come out now. It has to come out before she even starts trying for a baby too.

IUDs could lead to premature labor if she gets pregnant on it. Tammy also thought there was a chance she might be pregnant. Only she thought that because she had a craving for water.

Amy couldn’t help laughing at that one in her confessional because she said that’s not a craving. Tammy was just thirsty. Tammy was checked out by the doctor and she was not pregnant.

She hasn’t had a period in years and she probably needs to lose more weight before they can come back. It wasn’t what she wanted to hear but it’s what was said.

Tammy shouldn’t be in a rush to have a baby anyways. She has a husband she couldn’t fully trust. Caleb started overeating the second she left the rehab and now he couldn’t be approved for weight loss surgery.

He also wounded up in the hospital for a few days. Which he didn’t tell her until after the fact. Tammy got Chris to give her a ride to see Caleb. She saw with her own eyes that Caleb wasn’t doing well.

He was barely losing weight. He even had unhealthy snacks in his room. Why have that at all if you say you can’t wait to join your wife in the outside world?

Tammy was curious about that one too.

Meanwhile Amy went back to her old house. She was packing things up. She was getting emotionally overwhelmed and nothing her sisters said helped. Amy shut down on them.

THE END!
