In tonight’s 7 Little Johnstons episode, Liz found out she was having an average size baby. This meant they had to do more childproofing. Her parents decorated a nursery for a little person and so an average size baby changes things.
They weren’t sure what Liz was having at first because she waited until she was thirty-one weeks to do the test, but they were happy once Liz told them. They now know they don’t have to get specially altered clothes for the baby. They could buy regular clothes for little Leighton. They could even donate some of their own clothes for Leighton while she’s growing up.
The baby being average sized also offered up a lot of opportunities. She could play sports. Her future grandmother also said she could also play Snow White to their seven dwarves.
The kids all knew which dwarves they played. They assigned Grumpy and Sneezy to their parents. Amber and Trent were also throwing a baby shower for Liz. Trent had to build a diaper cake. It wasn’t real cake. It was the appearance of cake made out of a diaper tower. The bottom two layers were fine because Trent got help from Anna and Emma.
It was the top layer that looked skewed. They all hated the finished cake because of that top layer. It was so bad that the girls didn’t even take a photo of it for social media. They were happy to keep the cake as a surprise for Liz. Later, Trent talked to Amber. Amber found one of those fake pregnancy bellies to help men sympathize with pregnant women.
She found one of those and she put it on. It brought back happy memories for her. It was different for Trent. He was so happy the baby was average size. They didn’t have to worry about the never-ending surgeries for a little person baby.
All of his kids have had surgeries. He also struggled with sleep apnea. It killed his brother as a child. It could be lethal for little people and so an average size baby changes all of that.
Liz could have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby as a result. He was happy for that. He also saw that his wife needed to get out of her own head and that made him want to take her out on a date night. He got a convertible. He surprised Amber with it. He then whisked her away to a romantic spa. And they got couple massages.
Trent has never had a massage before. It was revealed tonight that he wasn’t used to silence. He kept talking throughout all of it and Amber had to laugh it off. She was used to his talkative nature.
She also loved the massage. They both did. It relaxed them and they were now in a party mood. Amber had a long list of things that needed to be done for the baby shower. Her two sons tried to help with the list. They saw that balloons were on the list. They decided to get them for her. They had no idea how to bring them home.
The balloons kept popping as they tried to put them into the backseat of their car. They were running out of balloons that way and so they tried to driving with it the balloons winded up in the window.
More balloons popped that way. They managed to get enough balloons home. Amber did the rest. She invited somewhere between fifty to sixty people. She set up a predication station where everyone would guess what the baby will look like. How big they are. And they decorated the area with pictures of Liz and Brice as kids.
One photo was apparently too ugly for Liz. She begged her mom not to include the photo and Amber did put it back into the photo album. Only that made everyone consider what their ugliest photo of themselves is. Alex has a photo that makes his head look like a potato. Emma has a photo where she was just bored.
Jonah has a photo of him riding Emma’s pink bike. Anna has a photo where she was using up time in the bathroom to get off work. They all had a good laugh at the photos. They went back to decorating for the party and somehow Jonah managed to pop even more balloons.
Liz’s baby belly officially popped by time they had the baby shower. There were plenty of games. Also, Brice’s family has a bunch of boys. He was one of several boys. He had several nephews. His daughter was going to be the first girl in the family. Leighton was so going to be a spoiled princess.
Every girls deserved to be one and so its good that Leighton will be. Though Brice’s dad thought Leighton would be in camouflage gear before she knows it. And so the family was hoping for tomboy.
Brice and Liz also chose their baby’s godparents. If something were to happen to them, the baby would go to Liz’s parents or Brice’s parents if her parents couldn’t take them. Then to the godparents if both sets of grandparents couldn’t take in Leighton. And at the end of baby shower, Brice surprised Liz with a trip to their favorite date site.
