In tonight’s 7 Little Johnstons episode, Amber put together a practice session for the family. They all needed to learn if not have refresher on changing diapers. Liz was having a baby. Little Leighton was due soon. The family needed to know how to change a diaper in case they babysat for Liz. Anna is experienced.
She has changed a few diapers. She worked at a daycare. Plus, the girls had practice with their baby dolls growing up. Amber brought out the same baby dolls and she had everyone change a diaper on them. She also made it look realistic. She put dog food in the diapers. Jonah was disgusted by that. And Trent remembered he didn’t diaper their last child at all.
Brice however seemed the most worried about changing diapers. He’s never done one before. He was scared about changing his future daughter’s diaper and so he went out with guys.
He met up with Trent, Jonah, his dad, and his brother. They all talked about the future. Brice’s family wants to have as many grandkids as possible. Brice was the one that wanted to stop at one. He heard from Liz about how hard it would be to deliver the baby. She couldn’t deliver naturally. Her pelvis wasn’t fit for that.
Liz also had to be put to sleep before the c-section. She couldn’t be awake because her spine wasn’t a typical spine. Hers was curved from being a little person. Meaning Brice will be the only one seeing Leighton for a bit. They had to wait for Liz to come to before she met her baby and Brice was worried about her reaction to anesthesia.
Its why he wanted to stop at one. There were too many health risks when a little woman gives birth. It’s why they’re happy that they’re having an average size baby.
An average size baby doesn’t have to worry about constant surgeries. Or sleep studies. Or having friends with questions about dwarfism. They could just grow up like everyone else.
They could have the usual problem and not a little person problem. Liz and Brice also moved in with her parents temporarily. They wanted to leave their last place because it reminded them of their late dog. The other house was also too far away from everything and everyone. And so moving back home was just a short stop until the baby was born.
Liz and Brice will still look for their own place. They want their own home. They don’t want to live with her parents forever and so they were looking at places to determine what it is they like.
The rest of the family was going ahead with renovating the upstairs bathroom. Jonah shares a bathroom Emma. The sinks were in their bedrooms instead of the shared bathroom. Trent wanted to renovate the bathroom all by himself. In doing so, he nearly knocked out Emma. He destroyed some good insulation. He also dropped a few f bombs.
It’s never a renovation without a few f bombs. It just shows that work is getting done. Trent was off doing that when Alex and Emma went out mini-golfing. The family all loves golfing. Jonah and their dad were the best at it. They actually went to real golf courses to play a few games. Just don’t count out mini-golfing.
It was great for them because they didn’t have to bend far to line up the ball. They had fun on the course and then Alex had some privacy to talk to his girlfriend. Her name is Allie. She doesn’t live nearby and so they often have to talk to each other on Skype.
Emma used her time to talk her mom into a hot pink wall. She loves pink. She’s always wanted a pink room and now is her chance thanks to the renovation. Amber tried to talk her out of it.
She said that Emma might not like pink in a year or so. Pink was very 2023. It’s the year they’re filming in. She didn’t want her daughter complaining in 2024 that she needed to change the wall again. Amber wants Emma to pick a neutral color because that meant she would never have to change it on personal taste.
Once Emma was done with that. Once Alex was doing skyping his girlfriend. They blew up a few balloons to make a welcome sign for Liz. Liz later loved it.
She was in her nesting stage now. She was awaiting the baby and she was glad to be around family. She was going to need all of their support in the coming year.
