In tonight’s AGT episode, Sofia was back! She joined Heidi, Howie, and Simon for an all new season of “America’s Got Talent”. They auditioned people around the country and up first tonight was a group of dancers. They were from Los Osos High School. The whole school was there for the audition. Even the principle made the trip. They were cheering for this group of kids because they knew exactly what they wanted to do with the prize money if they won this season. They wanted to build their own space at school. They were currently sharing their rehearsal room with the wrestling team. And they couldn’t wait to move out.
The dance team was great. Sofia thought they were amazing. Heidi thought they should up the ante. The bar has been raised this season and Howie said as much. They were going to need to see more from the kids. Surprisingly, it was Simon who thought the kids didn’t need to improve because they were already good. He gave them the first yes. Sofia gave them the next yes. Heidi gave them a conditional yes. It was just Howie that had to say no. He said he was waiting for one phenomenal move and it never happened.
The dance team was going into the next round. Next up was toddler Devon along with his dad, Duane. The father and son team were doing math. Devon was a little genius. His first word was “seven”. He learned that before “mama” or “dada”. He’s really good with numbers. He was just two years old and most of the audience needed work to catch up to his fast math skills. Devon was a true genius. He was also so adorable that it was impossible not to love his act. The rest of the world may need calculators, but not Devon and that’s why he’s going into the next round.
The next act was Sam Huang. He said everyone calls him, Crazy Sam. He was from Taiwan. His English wasn’t the best and he still wowed people with his magical act. Sam whole act took part with his hand. It was close up magic. People were left wondering how he did everything he did. It didn’t make sense and so that’s nickname was definitely going stick after tonight. Either Crazy Sam was a real wizard or he was just that good at magic. He received several yesses and he too will be going into the next round.
Amy and Daisy May were up next. They were a dog act. Amy was the owner. Daisy May was the dog. Daisy also brought along a friend of her own named Clifford. Clifford was off to the side watching. He was still being trained and that’s why he wasn’t a part of the act tonight. It was just Daisy May onstage. She went through a whole obstacle course with great dignity. She could take part in dog shows. She also looked adorable. She reminded the audience of that cartoon dog that used to say “going up”. It just wasn’t enough to guarantee her a spot in the next round.
Daisy May was the first rejection of the night. Her obstacle course was far too easy to be impressive. Learnmore Jonasi on the other hand got the audience on their feet. He went up after Daisy. He was a comedian. He was originally from Zimbabwe. He’s a big fan of the show. He was simply so happy to be there finally that he spread joy wherever he went. He had the audience laughing. He had those watching the show enjoying it as well. Learnmore was great. He brought so much joy that the judges had to press the golden buzzer for him.
Learnmore was the first to get sent straight to the live shows. Mind you there was another hour of the night and so that indicated how good he was on stage. Next up was Ashlee. She was a ballet dancer. She’s been dancing since she was four. She faces constant rejection for being too tall or too short. Or too big. Sure, she had muscle only she wasn’t overweight. How can she be too big? Then the people that say that wondered why ballerinas have such a complex about weight. Ashlee came on the show because she wanted to dance and she wanted to be appreciated for it.
Ashlee started out dancing. She then turned that into a daredevil act. It brought excitement. It made people worry for her and so it had everything it needed to impress the judges. Ashlee later got four yesses because of her unique take on the field. Next up was Reyna Roberts. She was a Country singer. She looked great in red. Her hair was the same flaming red as her outfit and she came with an original song. Her song was called “Raise Right’. She came up with the name because she was a huge sci-fi fan and she thought a character in one of her shows wasn’t raised right.
She then realized that sounded like a great title. She came up with the rest of the song to match that name. It was an altogether a great song. It had a good beat. Reyna’s band was on point. Reyna’s voice was great. Howie didn’t like it because he said it didn’t have a hook. Something about it wasn’t right for him. The female judges disagreed. Both Sofia and Heidi enjoyed the performance. They couldn’t wait to give her yesses. Simon who was also the music guy had given her a yes as well. It was just Howie that said no.
What’s going on with Howie tonight? He was being such a pessimist. Next up was Arshiya Sharma. She was from India. She was a dancer. Her act was a little different in the sense that she scares people. She came out as the cute little kid and that all changed when she put on her costume. She did demon makeup. She was scary while at the same time acrobatic. She frightened Sofia. Sofia was still scared of her after the dancing stopped and so that made everyone realize there’s no other act like her. And she got four yesses for a great display of her skill.
Next up was Chris Ivan. He’s been chasing his dreams by doing something unconventional. He got his family and close ones to come in to act as his assistants. He then had them take off their shirts. They wore helmets as well. He threw plungers at them. He holds the world record for doing that. He had them come in for the show again because he wanted to break his own record. It was so stupid. He wasn’t even that great of a thrower. He missed a few times. The judges all said no. Howie was so prickly that he asked the Guinness World Record guy why he came out for that?
Tonikaku was up next. He was from Japan. He was also on Britain’s Got Talent. He was so good there that he became Simon’s son’s favorite act. He described his act as a body performance. He was wearing this little speedo when he did absolutely stupidity on stage. He would poses in the skimpy speedo. It was also very clear that people were laughing with him instead of at him. Tonikaku got four yesses from his act. They all wanted to see more of him and that’s exactly what they’ll get. And up next was Richard Goodall.
Richard was the oldest of the night. He was in his fifties. He works as a school janitor. He came out tonight because he loves to sing. He was a bit nervous at the start and then he broke into “Don’t Stop Believing”. He has a great voice. He could hit those high notes. He’s been hiding that voice for way too long. He knocked everyone off their feet and they couldn’t wait to support him when Heidi hit the Golden Buzzer for him. Richard was going straight to the live shows with that one. And he broke out into tears because he couldn’t believe he would have such support.
THE END!
