In tonight’s Blue Bloods episode, Detective Danny Reagan tried to help a young woman get her life together. He got her out of jail time. He got her a job. He was checking up on her and she was claiming everything was fine, but her boss said she quit after giving him lip. She also stole money straight from the till.

It was the last time this guy was going to do Danny a favor. Danny also had to help the man recuperate his money. He tried tracking down Trina. She was being elusive and others caught his attention. Danny heard that his sister was involved in a shooting.

Erin was normally the safest one. She’s an Assistant District Attorney. She was one of the few in the family that wasn’t a cop. It just didn’t matter to the shooter because they took a shot at her table and it might not have been meant for her. Erin was having lunch with Anthony. They were enjoying a nice Italian meal.

They were talking and then Mario Vangelis stopped by their table. He was a known mobster. He killed several of his rivals. None of the charges against him have ever stuck. There were plenty of people that wanted him dead and the shooter did say “you know what you did” before shooting.

The shots could have been meant for Vangelis. It didn’t matter ultimately because Anthony shot and killed the shooter. Only Vangelis swore the bullets were meant for Erin. He said that he was out of the game. He said that no one would want to come after him now. He said that Erin was the bigger threat on the street nowadays.

Erin refused to believe him and so she and Anthony took custody of Vangelis. It was for his safety she claimed. They needed to put him where he could be safe she said and it didn’t matter what Vangelis wanted. It was now a public safety issue.

Erin was okay after the shooting. The family checked in and they heard everything was alright. Jamie also got wrapped up in a situation involving Grandpa.

Their Grandpa was once a cop himself. Henry was even Police Commissioner. He was contacted by an old friend of Jamie’s. Jamie’s friend Allison was a podcaster now. She was all about true crime podcasts. She’s turned into a gotcha reporter and she makes cops look stupid. She made the last cop on her podcasts sound worse than the guy that murdered three people.

Jamie was worried about her. Her motives. He found out the name of her latest podcasts. He tried to tell her not to go after his grandfather and she talked about how hard it was to stay a hit.

She constantly had to grab for attention in the age of social media. She was involving Henry in a podcast about police problems. She claimed that she was above board and only Henry believed her. Henry likes that people are talking to him about his old cop days. He sometimes feel like his family doesn’t listen to him as much as they used to.

Frank used to turn to Henry for his problems. He doesn’t do that anymore. The grandkids don’t do it either. They all saw Henry as this old man and they often forget that there was a sharp mind behind the outer exterior. For all they know, Henry probably figured out Allison’s motives.

He probably knows what she plans to do and he agreed to the podcasts anyway because he was teaching Allison a valuable lesson. There was no need for Jamie to be worried. He should be worried about Erin. Erin apparently was the target of the shooter.

Vangelis was right. None of his enemies were out to get him. He really was out of the game now. Anthony talked to all of his enemies and they were all surprised to hear someone took shots at him. Therefore, Vangelis must be telling the truth. The shooter was after Erin. Its what Vangelis and Anthony believe.

Erin faces a great deal of threats in her work. She was just threatened two months ago at a trial of a woman she put away. The shooter was after her and now she has to figure out why. She and Anthony were working the case like they normally do.

Frank was also dealing with a problem. He learned that the son of Sonny Malevsky was now a cop. The son went by his mother’s maiden name and he was known as Officer McPhadden. He technically lied on the application when he didn’t admit to knowing his father. A known crook. His father had killed the Police Commissioner’s son.

Sonny killed Joe. He was arrested for it. He took his own life before he had to serve a day in jail. This was the story that his son was running from. Officer McPhadden actually faked being sick just so he wouldn’t meet with Frank. And his partner gave him up.

She told Frank the real reason her partner didn’t want to see him. Frank tracked down McPhadden. He talked to him and the young man fully agreed that his father murdered Frank’s son. He’s always wanted to be a cop and so that’s why he lied by omitting his father’s story from the application.

Frank later brought this up at dinner because he wasn’t sure what to do about the officer. Erin wanted him to fire McPhadden. Danny didn’t think the kid should suffer for his father’s crimes. Jamie wasn’t sure about what he felt. And Frank knew he couldn’t make a decision without talking to his grandson.

He later talked to the younger Joe. He asked him what he should do. Joe was coming up blank because at the end of the day he didn’t know his father. He never got that chance and so he didn’t know if they should destroy the career of another cop. A man that just happened to have a killer for a father.

But it turns out that Vangelis and Anthony were both wrong. The shooter wasn’t after Erin. He was after Anthony. He tried to kill Anthony. He tried a second time by running him down with a car.

He failed. It was one guy behind everything. He hired the shooter and he tried to run down Anthony himself. He blamed Anthony for his wife divorcing him when he went to prison. He’s now going back to prison for attempted murder. Anthony was also fine. Also, Danny was able to teach Trina a valuable lesson. He threw her in juvie.

He told her to stay away from her old crew and she ignored him. She went to go see her friends when she found one bleeding out. Trina had seen the person that stabbed her friend. It was Jayden. The same man that was running her crew until she sent him to prison.

Trina tried to get revenge by getting a gun to kill Jayden. Only Danny and Baez stopped her. They saved her from committing a crime and they sent Jayden back to prison after he got released accidentally. Trina will be sent to juvie again. She seems to finally have grown up. She was willing to accept responsibility for what she did. And Danny knows she’ll call him once she gets out.

Frank and Joe meet with McPhadden and they both agree he should keep his job.

And Henry did teach Allison some valuable lessons after all.

THE END!
