Blue Bloods Spinoff Update: Fans Gear Up For Disappointing News

More bad news for Blue Bloods’ fans. As the drama gears up for the series finale this December, Brian Robbins, Paramount Global co-CEO had hinted about a spinoff in the recent past; however, it sounds like it will take some time for this to happen.

David Stapf, CBS Studio’s president recently outlined plans with Deadline, which won’t make viewers so happy about the progress on this.

“Blue Bloods” Spinoff Update: Nothing Is In Development

Stapf explains to Deadline that they don’t have anything in development anytime soon, but Blue Bloods is “a brand, a title, and a show that is beloved.” He goes on to say, “We’ve got to get it right, so we’re taking our time and trying to figure it out, okay, what is the next iteration of Blue Bloods? We have a whole season to go where we intend to celebrate it all season long as to how good that show is, so there’s still time for us to figure that out.”

Blue Bloods has been on CBS for 14 seasons, so it sounds like the studio wants to make sure they get the spinoff “right”, and not “rush” into anything just to get content quickly out to the fans.

“Blue Bloods” Spinoff Update: One Disappointment After Another

Spinoff or not, fans have been desperate to save Blue Bloods, as most don’t want to see the show end. Star Tom Selleck has gone on record saying he isn’t ready to say goodbye, and fellow co-star Donnie Wahlberg has also stated that he’s heard a buzz that the last final shows, starting this fall, may not be the end.

Anything is possible, but filming has officially wrapped up for the show, so it’s likely that this is the end for Blue Bloods, despite the current petitions and campaigns to keep the show around still going strong.

While the end is nearing, there are still eight last episodes to look forward to. As of this writing, a premiere date has not been announced on CBS.
