Chicago Fire Recap

Brett was in a panic at the start of tonight’s episode. She thought she was getting married at the aquarium. The official Shedd Aquarium. She put her faith in Tony and he let her down really badly. He thought a fish store called the Aquarium was the same as the official one.

He confused Brett. She’s now getting married at a fish store that sells supplies to the official Aquarium. Brett didn’t know how to break the news to Casey. Luckily, Casey is a great guy. He laughed at them getting married at a fish store.

He mainly laughed because he couldn’t see how someone as bright as Brett managed to let Tony talk her into a fish store wedding.

Casey’s sense of humor helped put a spin on things. Brett calmed down. She stopped panicking. She put her faith in Violet and Violet swore she made the fish store work. She was going to decorate it until it barely looked like a fish store. Violet took her Maid of Honor duties seriously.

Kidd felt it was a shame Severide didn’t do the same with his Best Man duties. Severide called his wife to tell her he’ll miss the wedding. His flight has gotten delayed so many times that it won’t make it in time for the wedding.

Kidd broke the news to the happy couple. She also started spiraling when others weren’t looking. She hates Severide working with ATF because he tends to ghost her when he’s away. She had talked to him about it after the last time. He promised this time things will be different.

He swore he’d stay in contact, but missing Casey and Brett’s wedding was a big thing and Kidd was going to get angry about it when Severide surprised her. He managed to get on a different flight. He arrived in Chicago on time. And he surprised his wife at Firehouse 51.

Severide was back in town. Casey was back in town. The wedding still needed a lot of work because Violet couldn’t do as much as she thought. Violet was appointed the lead paramedic on her ambulance.

Only the Paramedic Chief wanted to lecture Violet about her new duties. She didn’t care that Violet was planning a last minute wedding. She also seemed to throw Violet’s relationship with Chief Hawkins back into her face. The poor man’s dad, woman. Let it go.

This woman had something to prove and she considered Violet a stain on Hawkins’s legacy.

A woman came to the firehouse because her son had stopped breathing. He had unfortunately put a magnet up his nose. Mouch helped the mother give him resuscitation and they got the magnet out. Mouch was making a name for himself. He was still known as Mouch though.

He couldn’t lose his moniker no matter what he tried. He has two years left in the department and he wanted to create a new legacy for himself. Something other than half-man, half-couch. He tried using his real name and no one knew it or kept forgetting it.

Mouch got another chance to prove himself at a later fire. There was a huge fire at an expo event. The building needed to be cleared and a security guard got locked into the closet where they held valuables. This closet has a lock on it. It was also forfeited to be like a bank vault.

The security guard got locked inside because the key card stopped working during the fire. Mostly everyone evacuated the building. Brett noticed a different security guard go back inside. She followed him because she thought she was helping by warning him away.

Brett later found this guy bleeding out from a deep wound on his arm. He had used arm to smash into some of the expensive displays and he was stealing from employers. Once Brett realized this, she tried to call for backup. This guy stopped her. He pulled his gun. He told her to fix his arm or he’ll kills her.

This was Brett’s last shift before her wedding. Violet quickly noticed Brett was missing within five minutes. The firefighters suspected something was happening as well. They made it into the valuables closet. And they didn’t find the security guard.

They did find several flash grenades. There was never a fire. There was a heist. The security guards took the job to get close enough to steal from the place and one of them pretended to have gotten locked inside the valuables closet while he secretly escaped through the window.

By time the firefighters figured out what happened, it was too late to stop most of the fake guards from fleeing. The only one that didn’t escape was the one with Brett and Brett got away from him. She sprayed liquid in his eyes to make a run for it. And Casey showed up with Boden to save the day.

They had heard Violet’s distress call when she couldn’t get in touch with Brett. They raced to the scene and they subdued their gunmen until police finally showed up. The security guard was arrested. His partners made it off with their loot.

But Brett was saved. That was all that mattered. She later had a beautiful ceremony at the fish store with Casey. Violet did amazing things with floral arrangements. Tony still doesn’t see the fish store as sub par. And everyone was treated to a beautiful ceremony.

Brett even revealed why the official aquarium was special for her. She still remembers when they took Amelia to the aquarium because that’s the moment she realized she was in love with him. Still, being around fish brought fond memories.

The couple had their reception at Molly’s afterwards. They had it there because they couldn’t eat sushi among the fish. It would be wrong. Funny albeit still wrong.

Also, Violet told Carver she cares about him.

And they all wished the new Caseys bon voyage on their honeymoon.
