In tonight’s Chicago Fire episode, Ritter was seeing someone. It was still new. Ritter didn’t want to jinx it by telling anyone too soon. He didn’t even mention anything to Violet until she noticed someone was blowing up his phone. Ritter’s possible boyfriend wanted to visit the firehouse. He wanted to see where Ritter works.

He wanted to become a part of Ritter’s life and Ritter was nervous about letting him in. He didn’t want to move too soon only to have it fall apart. He also didn’t want this guy he’s interested in to think he doesn’t care. He was torn about what to do and he finally told Violet everything. She was willing to talk him through the problem.

Violet also didn’t mention her own issue. She had already told Ritter all about Carver. That was old news by this point and so her new problem was with Paramedic Chief Robinson.

Robinson seemed to have it out for her. Violet didn’t know why. She talked about it with Chief Boden. They both thought it worrying that Robinson was refusing to discuss Brett’s replacement. Violet was the new PIC at Station 51. She was supposed to be assigned someone to work with and Robinson was refusing to give either Violet or Boden the common courtesy of a heads up.

They both realized that she was just going to drop someone on them with little warning. It’s like she was taking enjoyment out of tripping up one of her own people.

She was also ticking off Boden for no reason and so nothing was making sense with this woman. They were right about her just dropping someone on them. The new paramedic was Jared Lennox. He barely had time to talk to Violet when they got called out to the scene of a fire. The firefighters went in. They rescued a grandmother. And they found a bunch of money.

The firefighters collected the money they found. They called it in with the police. The police accused them of taking some of it and they took the rest of the money as “evidence”.

Severide however didn’t think all of the money was going to make it into an evidence locker. He thought the same cops that accused them of stealing were going to steal some of it. Violet meanwhile was worried about the new guy. They treated the grandmother for smoke inhalation. Lennox was quick to question Violet way of doing things. And she had to remind him that she was his boss.

Violet takes charge when they’re called out. Lennox mentioned it was different at his previous firehouse and so Violet reminded him he was at a new place with new rules. He didn’t just question her.

He did so twice. Violet also doesn’t believe his story that this was cool with his previous PIC. She felt Lennox questioned her because she was a woman. She didn’t think he would have made a mistake twice if she had been a man issuing orders. And so she talked it out with Kidd about being a woman in power.

The firehouse also had someone coming to them for help. This young teenager that lived at the house came looking for the money. She said she needed all of that money back or she was going to die.

The girl’s name is Maya. Maya was holding the money for drug dealers. They didn’t care about a fire or crooked cops. They demanded every cent she was holding for them and they would kill her if she couldn’t do that. Maya couldn’t just get the money back from the police. There was going to be paperwork and she didn’t have time for them to run an investigation on her.

Maya spoke to Severide. The last she saw of the money was when the firefighters were loading it. Its why she went to the firehouse first and she must have trusted Severide because she explained her problem.

Severide was willing to assist her. He got her in touch with a detective. The detective wanted her to give up information on the drug dealers as well as information on their other stash houses. Maya couldn’t do that. She got mixed up with GK-13. Her brother was a part of the gang. He got sent away to prison and so the gang approached her or her brother goes without protection.

Maya agreed to do it. Then the fire happened. She lost half of a hundred grand. The other half was thankfully upstairs hidden in the bathroom and she told Severide all about it.

He said they never went upstairs. He agreed to stop by the house to see if he could get it for her. The gang tried to kill Maya and so Severide brought her back to the firehouse. She was going to stay there for a while until she could pay her debt to the gang. Almost everyone was willing to help her in any way they could. It was a little odd for Lennox though because he wasn’t used to how they do things.

Severide went back to the house. He found two guys searching the place. They had guns and so he warned them that he was a part of an arson investigation with other firefighters coming up behind him.

The guys cleared off when they saw the fire truck pull up. Severide got a chance to search the house, but unfortunately the money was gone. Severide believes the cops returned to the house. They probably searched it and they took the rest of the money the moment they heard she had ties to GK-13.

When Severide asked the cops about it, they warned him that they would be watching his financials. They said that nothing could be out of place or they were going to arrest him. It was a threat to get him to back off only they didn’t know Severide. He was never going to let this one go. Lennox also questioned Violet again.

He deliberately called her new when they answered another call. He wanted to undermine her and he got upset when she called him out on it. She told him to fall in line or get the hell out. Those were his only options.

Mouch also fought a parking ticket because they parked at a fire hydrant during a grocery run. He got the ticket tossed and he felt very good about fighting the man. He even learned that he got into a course on about new tech in firefighting.

But Severide was wrong about the cops. Maya’s grandmother got to the money first. They used it to bail out her brother and then moved far away to somewhere safer. And where they couldn’t be reached by the gang.

Lennox meanwhile filed a complaint against Violet for being aggressive. He wasn’t just coming after her. He was doing Robinson’s bidding to come after all of them and that included everyone at 51.

And Ritter’s new boyfriend turned out to be a cop.

THE END!
