In tonight’s Chicago Fire episode, Ritter overheard the new guy talking about Severide. Jack Damon was on the phone at the time. It’s just the way he discussed Severide didn’t seem right with Ritter and so he talked about it with Violet. She told him to tell Kidd. Kidd was being extremely cautious after Gibson.

She should know whether or not she can trust Jack. They were still talking about when the strangest thing happened. Someone stole a rig. They went into the firehouse.

They made sure no one was around the rig and then they simply drove off with it. They didn’t know that Severide saw them acting suspiciously. He climbed on the rig to get a better look and they drove off with him still on the rig.

Technically, Severide got kidnapped. The house didn’t know about it until they felt cold. They were wondering why they felt cold and they went looking where the breeze was coming from. They found the rig missing. There was no explanation nor was there any sign of Severide. They found Severide’s phone.

The last person that saw him was Jack. Jack said he saw Severide cleaning the chainsaw. Ritter and Violet gave each other a look when they heard that. The look said they should tell Kidd about Jack just in case he had anything to do with Severide going missing.

Boden was out of town. Severide was left in charge. With him and the rig gone, Kidd thought it best to call the police. Two detectives showed up.

They asked if the rig has keys. They explained that no fire apparatus does. It takes skill to turn it on and so the thieves must have experience. They also knew enough to disable the radio. The radio was the only way they had of tracking their vehicles. The cops said they would look for Severide and the rig. They told the firefighters to stay put in case either comes back to the firehouse.

This wasn’t enough for Kidd. She wants to be out there looking. Severide was her husband. She wants to go running to the rescue and so that’s when Ritter told her what he heard. Kidd didn’t automatically accuse Jack of anything. She instead asked him about his last encounter with Severide.

Jack said they had small talk. They talked about the chainsaw. Jack admitted he had a lot of questions about the thing. He then said he went back inside. Kidd would have had more questions, but that’s when they got the distress signal from Severide.

Severide managed to get under the rig. He crossed the wires to send out a distress call. Cruz picked it up easily. It wasn’t enough to tell them the location of either Severide or the rig. It was enough to tell them that Severide was still alive. Kidd called the cops back to the firehouse. She told them that Jack was the last to see Severide. They showed her pictures of the rig being driven into Indiana. There was also an ambulance was that was stolen from Cincinnati. The detectives thought it was connected and they asked Jack about it.

Jack freaked out. He said he had nothing to do with the kidnapping or the missing rig. He said he came to 51 because he heard it was the best. Everyone wanted to work there. He wasn’t being completely honest. Only he appeared genuine when he said he would never harm anyone.

He also felt he should leave the firehouse after they suspected him. He spoke with the new paramedic. Novak told him that he was new and they didn’t know him like they know each other. The rest have been working together for years. They needed time before they could trust him.

Jack pointed out that they didn’t distrust her. Novak said maybe they should have questioned her. Severide meanwhile was in trouble. He was spotted sneaking around.

He got into a fight with a man with a gun. He was able to shoot the other man in the struggle. Then the man’s friends came. They came in the stolen ambulance. The cops were right to think it was connected. The others were armed. They ended up killing their own friend because he was too injured to drive the rig. They were going to force Severide to drive the rig.

Severide was still wearing his CFD uniform. They knew he could handle the rig. They also told him that he could drive it or die. He chose the driving option.

Severide stole a cell phone off the dead guy. He called his wife’s number. He then loudly questioned the men that were arming the rig with enough explosives to take out a whole block. In Indiana. He then hid the cell phone. The cops used that to track it. The firefighters were sent the coordinates. They started tracking the rig too and that’s when they saw a huge explosion.

Severide set a fire in the rig. It forced them off the road. Far away from the site of the terrorist attack they were planning. Then the rig exploded with the bombs still on. Severide was okay. Kidd found him unharmed. The bad guys also got into a shootout with the cops. The firefighters let them have it. And Ritter admitted he was dating one of the cops working the case, Officer Dwayne Morris.

There’s still something strange about Jack Damon, but everyone was happy that Severide was fine.

THE END!
