Chicago Fire Season 13: Jocelyn Hudon Bumped Up To Series Regular

According to Deadline, Jocelyn Hudon has been promoted to series regular on Chicago Fire, come Season 13. The actress joined the NBC drama at the end of Season 12, as Lyla Novak, the newest paramedic to enter Ambulance 61.

After Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) was having issues trying to find a replacement for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), who left the show early during the last season, Novak came into the picture.

While Novak was hesitant to “settle down” to Firehouse 51 initially, the freelancing paramedic finally agreed, and it’ll be interesting to see the direction this character takes as a series regular.

Hudon is best known for her multiple Hallmark movies, the most recent being Falling in Love in Niagara. She also had a recurring role in When Calls the Heart and When Hope Calls, both popular Hallmark dramas.

In early 2024, she starred in the movie, The Fall, and received a 2024 Mammoth Film Festival nomination for Best Actress. Hudon also appeared in Acapulco, The Rookie: Feds, Dave, Criminal Minds, and 9-1-1 – just to name a few of her acting credits.

Chicago Fire Season 13: More Casting Changes

More casting changes are likely on the horizon for Chicago Fire, considering Eamonn Walker (Chief Wallace Boden) stepping down as a series regular during the Season 12 finale.

As per Deadline, 51 is set to get a new chief, Dom Pascal, who was a chief in Miami. The character is described as “cheerful”, and works well under pressure, but has a different leadership style than Boden. Casting has started for the new character, and someone should be announced in the weeks and months ahead.
