In tonight’s Chicago Med episode, Dr. Loren Johnson needed a flight nurse to transport a heart. His last one called out. He also needed a nurse in case anything goes wrong. A lot can happen between Chicago and St. Louis. The heart was going to St. Louis. Maggie didn’t want to take any chances and so she nominated herself to go.

It doesn’t hurt that she’ll be sharing a flight with a hot doctor. Her divorce went through. She was single now. There’s nothing holding her back from pursuing things. She wasn’t sure at first if she wanted to put herself back out there and so it took seeing another nurse being interested in the doctor to bring out her competitive side.

Maggie and Loren later made it to St. Louis just fine. The patient there has been waiting on the transplant for two years. The heart was her godsend even if the donor couldn’t save someone else at Chicago Med. Dr. Crockett Marcel has a patient waiting for a pair of lungs.

The donor that no longer needed his heart had also donated his lungs. It’s just it wasn’t a match for Carson. Carson was still at the top of the list though. The second the lungs with the right blood type becomes available – he gets it. He was sadly running out of time because he’s developing blood clots in the meantime.

Dr. Zola Ahmad had tried to rush a pair of lungs for him. She almost killed a living patient in her rush. She was fired from the hospital because of it and there’s no telling if she can ever practice medicine again. She blew through three residencies. No one will want to take a chance on her. Not like what they did for Will Halstead.

The hospital was owned by different people now. They were more worried about lawsuits than keeping a good doctor. It also mattered that she was warned several times before her latest stunt. And that’s why she got fired.

Marcel was a little sad when he heard about her getting fired. He was supposed to keep an eye on her. He even liked her as a person. He simply couldn’t trust her as a doctor. Luckily, there was another patient that came in that looked like she could be a match for Carson. The patient’s name was June Bishop.

She committed suicide. It left her brain dead. The doctors did everything they could and there was no saving her. She was even married. Her husband rushed to the hospital when he heard about what she did. He loves her.

He loves her too much to write her off as dead. She was hooked up to machines. Her hands still felt warm and so Nathan wants to hope for the best right now. Marcel realized he couldn’t push him. He couldn’t be another Ahmad. He let a grieving husband take as long as he wants if it gives him closure.

Sharon Goodwin had tried talking to Nathan. It got nowhere. She hates to see valuable organs go to waste when they could save someone’s life. She kept watch. She might get backup in the form of Dr. Daniel Charles.

Charles found out that June was a therapy patient at the hospital. June has been suffering from sleep deprivation. She wasn’t suicidal. Or at least she never mentioned anything like that to her therapist.

Her husband also didn’t know that she was seeing a therapist. June tried to keep her troubles to herself because she knew her husband was going through a rough time at work. She told her therapist that she would talk to Nathan after the sleep study. She just never got a chance to talk to him. She jumped off her balcony instead.

Which was rare for women. When women commit suicide, they tend to do it in privacy. They don’t kill themselves out in the open nor did they make such a show of it. June jumped off her balcony in the middle of the day.

There were plenty of witnesses. It simply didn’t make sense to Charles why she did it. He went looking through his colleague’s notes on her case. He tried finding an answer because he thought it might help Nathan to finally let go. Nathan hadn’t left June’s side since they moved to a hospital room. He needed hope because he didn’t have answers.

Nathan never saw the warning signs. He thought his wife was happy. He thought they were happy together and that she would have talked to him before doing something like she did. It didn’t make sense to him. He couldn’t understand why his world crumbled out of nowhere. Only the hospital had a few situations going on.

Maggie’s helicopter was forced to divert due to horrible weather. They landed in an empty field. The pilot couldn’t bring them back up. Loren was also injured. She had to perform a minor procedure on him. And they had to wait for search and rescue.

There was also a shooting right outside of the hospital. The shooter was Greg Sanders. He came in with his wife because she was feeling unwell and he was asked to leave when they spotted his gun.

He had gotten robbed two months prior. He got a gun right after that to feel safe again. He brings it everywhere. He legally couldn’t be inside of a hospital with it and so he waited outside for his wife. That’s when he came across Perry. Perry was high on coke and PCP. He was taken to the hospital after fighting a tree. He was searched when he got there.

Perry hid drugs in a hidden compartment inside of his shoe. He took it the second the nurses weren’t watching. He got high again and he tried to fight everyone outside. He tried to fight Greg. Greg was forced to shoot him to defend himself. The cops got called. Perry was rushed into surgery. He survived and he thought it was funny once he woke up.

He will most likely try drugs again. Greg meanwhile was cleared by the police. They saw he was acting in self-defense. They let him go with a word of warning. And Greg was so scared by what he did that he didn’t want to be around guns anymore.

Charles though found out what happened to June. He found out that June was sleepwalking. She did do the sleep study and it showed she sleepwalks. Charles had some tests run.

June was still sleepwalking when she fell off the balcony. She didn’t wake up in time to stop. Charles spoke to Nathan about it. It explained a lot of occurrences he dismissed before now. It also told him what June wanted to talk to him about that night.

And Dr. Asher helped a patient with appendicitis. The poor woman has been misdiagnosed for months. Asher saved her life and then she got to hear about Maggie’s romantic night with Loren. Both were okay by the way.

And Dr. Archer introduced Perry to Margot. He knew the kid was an addict. He didn’t want to dismiss the signs like he did with his own son.

THE END!
