Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) have been dealing with some difficult life changes lately. Just when it looked like Chanel and Johnny were gearing up for a happy new chapter together, the rug got ripped out from under them.
Of course, we’re talking about the baby loss that pumped the brakes on Johnny and Chanel’s move to Los Angeles, where Johnny was set to begin working with one of his favorite directors.
That job didn’t work out for Johnny in the end, but Carson Boatman certainly didn’t mind since it meant he got to keep his real-life job at Days!
In an interview with SOD, Boatman opened up about getting scared over a script shocker behind the scenes.
When Boatman first found out that Johnny and Chanel were preparing for this LA move, he understandably grew concerned about the possibility that he was being written out.
Thankfully, it was just a false alarm. The whole thing turned out to be a fake-out that was part of Johnny and Chanel’s overall storyline.
“Yeah, I’m happy to be staying in Salem. It means I get to keep having my job. I did have a bit of a panic attack when I first read Johnny and Chanel [were moving to California in the script],” Boatman admitted.
However, Carson Boatman explained that DOOL Co-Executive Producer Janet Spellman-Drucker pulled him aside along with Raven Bowens for a little chat.
Drucker gave both Days stars updates on the story that would ultimately end with them staying in Salem instead, so Boatman was able to quickly move beyond that initial panic.
Now that Johnny and Chanel are officially sticking around, what’s ahead for the duo? Boatman hinted that the miscarriage will actually bring Chanel and Johnny closer – at least for a while.
Alas, Boatman also hinted that trouble could be on the horizon, which is no surprise since that tends to be the case for all doomed Salemites.
“Just when you think they’re going to be happy, a wrench gets thrown into those plans,” Boatman suggested. “At least it seems that way most of the time, right?”
Our Days predictions point to Chanel and Johnny struggling with more obstacles, so stick with us for any bad news that might be brewing.
