Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, August 16, reveals that Connie Viniski (Julie Dove) faked a cold so she could play hooky with her Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) cardboard cutout, but she gave Gabi Hernadez DiMera (Cherie Jimenez) a nudge to go after revenge over the phone.
Once Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) arrived at the office, Gabi pushed her to admit Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) slept with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Kristen suggested Gabi was confused at first, but Gabi threatened to take Gabi Chic to a competitor before the official launch.
Kristen finally confirmed the betrayal, but she assured Gabi that Ava and Stefan hated themselves over their one-time mistake.
Gabi fumed and pointed out that Kristen wouldn’t accept excuses if she were in her position.
In the town square on Friday’s Days episode, Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) met with Ava since she’d done some digging and found out Connie was a total fraud who lied about everything on her resume.
DiMera company policy was clear, so Melinda insisted Connie was a liability who needed to be terminated.
Melinda urged Ava to tell Gabi and then went over to Connie’s place to break the bad news in person.
Once Melinda called Connie out on her deception, she wanted to come inside her apartment and collect her laptop along with her badge.
Connie denied Melinda entry and seemed concerned over the possibility off Trask finding her Li cardboard cutout.
Back with Gabi on Friday’s Days episode, she invited Ava to lunch and suggested Stefan would save them the best table at The Bistro.
At the DiMera mansion, Abigail DiMera (AnnaLynne McCord) appeared in the living room wearing a robe.
Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) brought a tray of breakfast that Abigail turned down, so there was some talk about Abby never being much of a breakfast person.
Stefan came along and assumed Chad stayed the night at the DiMera manse so he could enjoy some privacy with his new lady friend.
Once Stefan mentioned the woman was wearing one of Gabi’s robes, he pushed Chad for an introduction.
Chad admitted they’d already met and shocked Stefan by insisting this was Abigail.
Stefan tried to convince Chad that wasn’t true and looked at him like he’d lost it.
Chad argued that the DNA test confirmed this and told Stefan the whole story off-screen.
Abigail shook Stefan’s hand and learned they previously had a complicated relationship, but Stefan was glad she was back.
Once Abigail headed upstairs, Chad said he didn’t tell Abby about Stefan raping her since things were overwhelming enough already.
Stefan hinted about bad stuff happening in that house and suggested there were some things Chad might want to give Abby a heads-up on.
At the Horton house on Friday’s DOOL show, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) gave Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) updates on Abigail’s survival just before Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Cady McClain) arrived.
Jack tried to prepare Jennifer since Abigail didn’t look the same and had no memories, but Jennifer was still adamant about seeing their daughter ASAP.
Back at the DiMera mansion, Abigail wandered into the room where the stabbing happened, so Chad found her and asked what she was doing there.
Abby confessed that she was drawn to the room and was taken aback to learn that’s where she was stabbed.
Chad also admitted Clyde Weston (James Read) was responsible, so Abby seemed floored over the man who was taking care of her being at fault.
After Chad let Abigail know her mom wanted to come see her, Abigail agreed to meet with Jennifer since she was on her way with Jack.
While Chad greeted Jack and Jennifer downstairs, Abigail – or whoever she really is – pulled out a cell phone and called someone to insist everything was going according to plan.
At The Bistro on Friday’s Days episode, Gabi convinced Stefan to join her lunch with Ava and proposed a toast, which led to her calling Ava a “lying, cheating bitch” who slept with her husband.
