Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, August 2, reveals that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) expressed concern about Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and whether he might be drinking again, but Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) didn’t divulge the close call he witnessed before the wedding.
After Paul reassured Marlena, he dashed off to go find his brother since Brady already texted Marlena about sleeping at the office last night.
Of course, Brady had lied to cover up another drinking binge in Fiona Cook’s (Serena Scott Thomas) room, so they enjoyed more banter and confirmed that their booze buddy arrangement would remain a secret.
At home on Friday’s Days episode, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) convinced Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) to visit Fiona while she was still in Salem.
Since Sarah was really hoping Fiona could attend their wedding, Xander agreed to try making amends.
Once Xander showed up at the door of Fiona’s suite, she shoved Brady toward the bathroom and forced him to escape out the window.
Brady was limping with twigs his hair when Paul found him in the town square, where Brady admitted he had a twisted ankle and made excuses to cover up his relapse.
Paul was clearly concerned, but he called Marlena and reassured her again anyway.
Back with Sarah on Friday’s DOOL show, she talked to Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) about Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) taking responsibility for her actions.
Maggie was still angry about the kidnapping, but she felt that Theresa was genuinely remorseful.
Talk turned to Sarah’s wedding do-over plans and Xander’s attempt to fix things with Fiona, so Sarah expressed hope to Maggie.
Back in Fiona’s room on Friday’s Days episode, she finally opened the door to Xander and sought forgiveness for the past.
Fiona claimed she wasn’t trying to absolve herself of guilt by telling Sarah that sob story, but she wanted to help Xander understand.
Xander was skeptical about Fiona’s mental institution stint and this idea that she’s cleaned up her life.
However, Fiona insisted it was true and that she was totally committed to her sobriety now since she wanted to prove herself to Xander.
Fiona begged Xander to believe her and expressed her love, so it seemed like she was tugging at his heartstrings.
Unfortunately, something caught Xander’s eye nearby that left him shocked, so that could involve some drinking binge evidence.
In Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) office on Friday’s Days episode, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) surprised her by returning without John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
Despite Steve’s attempts to find John in Greece, he was only able to uncover John’s note to Catharina (Ella Patrikios) in the cemetery.
It had blood on it, so Steve had it tested using his ISA resources and confirmed that blood belonged to John.
Steve suspected foul play and mentioned that John hadn’t been seen at his hotel in several days.
Afterward, Steve met with Marlena and urged her to sit down, so he prepared to offer updates on some alarming news.
In Poplar Bluff, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) managed to track down the abandoned building they believed was in the video.
Jack and Chad found a locked door, so Chad forced it open after hearing a noise in there. Once Chad and Jack saw what was inside, they both looked shocked.
