Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, December 6, reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) checked in a cheap motel in Vancouver, where they bickered over Chad’s prioritizing Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) remains over Cat’s possibly alive mom.
However, Chad called home and got updates on Doug Williams’ (Bill Hayes) demise, so Cat offered sympathy as the mood softened.
Although Cat offered to sleep on the floor since there was only one bed, Chad pushed her to take it while he kept lookout by the window.
Next on Friday’s Days episode, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) and Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) played the decoy version of Mr. and Mrs. Chad DiMera in a much nicer hotel.
A note was delivered from Clyde Weston (James Read), who warned that there’d better not be any more tricks or demands.
Clyde was prepared to trade info on Abigail’s remains for Cat, so he said he’d be sending more instructions in the morning.
JJ got a phone call from Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), who filled him in on the news that Doug passed away.
Gabi comforted JJ before they ultimately decided to get some sleep.
Since they’d shared a bed before, Gabi suggested it wasn’t a big deal to share one now. As Gabi snuggled in, she smiled a bit as JJ settled in next to her.
Back in Salem on Friday’s Days episode, Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) enjoyed a girls’ spa day at home with Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) and Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens).
Paulina mentioned Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) causing marriage drama, so Chanel offered an abbreviated version of the story and insisted they were moving on.
Chanel was just glad Johnny didn’t turn to someone else and cheat on her since there’d be no coming back from that.
Lani understood Johnny’s perspective since she once got the wrong idea about JJ and Gabi in bed together, which led to her sleeping with Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and conceiving her first child.
Baby David Abraham Grant was stillborn, but grieving the loss together brought Lani closer to Eli and changed everything for them.
Later, Paulina accompanied Lani to the cemetery, where Lani saw that flowers were already on David’s grave.
Paulina admitted to putting them there since she visited often.
Lani seemed touched over Paulina’s admission before she put her own flowers down and offered some sweet words to her baby boy.
At the DiMera mansion, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) gleefully told Johnny that he’d taken care of his Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) problem.
Johnny was confused, so EJ explained that he offered to buy Joy out of her contract and give her a sizable sum to leave Salem.
Johnny flipped out and pushed EJ to drop all this, but EJ insisted it’d be bad form to renege on the deal now.
In the end, Johnny relented and agreed to let EJ drive Joy out of town.
However, Johnny admitted there was one loose end since Joy blabbed to Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) about their night together.
EJ wasn’t happy about that and feared Alex would hold the secret over Johnny’s head.
At Alex’s apartment on Friday’s DOOL show, he was stunned when Joy showed up to say goodbye.
Joy explained the situation with EJ and how she’d accepted his offer to get rid of her.
Alex protested since Joy loved her new job – not to mention it’d ruin her career if she broke her contract a couple weeks into the gig.
Joy wasn’t worried since EJ was going to take care of everything and was giving her plenty of money.
Since Chanel kept inviting Joy over and acting like they were best friends, Joy made a prediction about this being for the best.
Alex pushed Joy to tell EJ that she’d changed her mind, but she didn’t want to risk his wrath.
Afterward on Friday’s Days episode, Joy met up with EJ outside the pub and accepted the check he handed over.
EJ pushed Joy to pack her bags and go now that the deal was official.
Back at the DiMera mansion, Alex barged in and asked Johnny where his daddy was. After Alex mentioned Joy’s departure confession, he accused Johnny of putting EJ up to what he’d done.
Johnny denied it and made it clear this was none of Alex’s business, so things took a heated turn right as Chanel walked in.
Chanel was baffled over the argument, so she pushed Johnny and Alex to tell her what was going on.
