Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, September 20, reveals that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) noticed the door to the DiMera tunnels was afar, so he headed down to the cellar. Before EJ could enter the secret room, the bomb went off and blew him back against a nearby wall.
EJ eventually put out the flames in the secret room and started to help Melinda Trask (Tina Huang), but she pushed him to help unconscious Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Cherie Jimenez) instead.
Next on Friday’s Days episode, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) showed up and called for EMTs, but EJ pulled Gabi out of the rubble and insisted on taking her to the hospital himself.
Once Gabi had been admitted, EJ sat by her hospital bed. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) said Gabi had smoke inhalation and that they were having a CT scan done to rule out a brain bleed following her potential concussion.
EJ seemed concerned on Friday’s Days episode, but Gabi woke up and got updates on what happened.
It all came back to Gabi as she remembered the horror, took EJ’s hand and insisted he saved her life.
Back with Melinda, she told Jada about Connie Viniski’s (Julie Dove) loose ends and remembered that Connie took Gabi’s phone.
Jada hoped to track that phone now that it was out of the secret room and the signal was no longer blocked.
In Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) room, Connie accused her of blabbing about the resume fraud and planned to get rid of her permanently.
Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) arrived to apologize for earlier and reeled at the sight of Connie holding a knife to Ava’s throat.
Stefan heard the disturbing news about Connie’s crimes and intentionally provoked her about Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) – just to get Connie away from Ava.
Connie lunged at Stefan and wounded his arm, but then Ava grabbed a knife of her own and threatened her right back.
Once Connie bolted out the door and ended up in front of the pub, Jada appeared with her gun drawn.
Jada warned Connie to drop the knife or else she’d shoot, so Connie was in a tight spot.
Back upstairs on Friday’s DOOL show, Ava looked at Stean’s bleeding arm and acknowledged that he just saved her life.
At the Horton house, “Abigail DiMera” (AnnaLynne McCord) recited her wedding vows and left Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) overcome with emotion.
This was the most hope Chad had been given for their future since “Abby” came back.
While Chad was out of the room taking a call, “Abigail” got on the phone with Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) and explained how she pulled off her memory charade.
It turns out “Abby” was able to sneak into the attic for the memento box with the vows inside.
Once Chad returned on Friday’s Days episode, he had bad news since there was an explosion at the DiMera mansion.
Chad told “Abigail” that EJ was involved and that Gabi may have been seriously injured.
Kayla also spoke to Mark at the hospital about the DNA test, so he swore that he never let the samples out of his sight and that there was no chance of tampering.
Mark assured Kayla that “Abigail” was really her niece and that there was no doubt.
