Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Belle Black (Martha Madison) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) have agreed to get a divorce, which wasn’t exactly shocking news to either one of them. Shawn and Belle’s marriage has been over for quite a while, so it’s just a matter of them accepting it and agreeing to move on.
Now that Belle and Shawn have done that, they’re free to mix things up with other love interests.
That’s something Days star Martha Madison is excited about based on a new interview with SOD.
Madison admitted she thought Belle and Shawn were painted into a corner that warranted a split.
Although Madison didn’t rule out the idea of Shawn and Belle reuniting someday, she suggested that they needed to grow as individuals first.
If Belle and Shawn do get back together somewhere down the line, there has to be more to root for between them. For now, Belle is single and ready to mingle!
DOOL’s season 60 preview already hinted about some material coming up for Belle and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), so Martha Madison mentioned that.
Days fans will also see more of Belle and Philip Kiriakis’ (John-Paul Lavoisier) bond now that the exes are back in each other’s orbit.
That said, Madison didn’t make any major predictions about Belle’s future with either of those leading men.
Instead, Madison focused on a different guy that she’d like to see shake up Salem.
“As far as a long-term partner, I don’t know. I would really like to see who this professor [who she had an affair with] was from 2015, which caused Shawn and Belle’s first divorce.
That is something I would love to explore,” Madison insisted.
That man has always been a bit of a mystery, so it’d be interesting to see him make a grand Salem entrance.
Perhaps this mystery guy could even have another connection or two on canvas besides Belle.
Of course, nothing is guaranteed since Madison acknowledged that she’s not the one in the Days writers’ room!
This is just wishful thinking on Madison’s part, but we certainly like the ideas she has to offer.
