Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, December 2, reveals that Liz Chandler (Gloria Loring) was back in town to support Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and pay her respects to Doug Williams (Bill Hayes), who gave Liz her big break singing years ago.
Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was thrilled when Liz arrived at her door, so they took some time to catch up and made plans to meet up again for a visit in the future.
After Liz left on Monday’s Days episode, Belle Black Brady (Martha Madsion) showed up next and admitted Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) didn’t know she was back in Salem.
Belle told Marlena that she’d been giving Shawn space by throwing herself into some DiMera work in Hong Kong.
Although Belle wasn’t sure where things stood with Shawn, she wanted to be there for him as he coped with the loss of Doug.
At the Horton house on Monday’s DOOL show, Shawn and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) found Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) in the living room.
Jennifer wondered when Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) was coming, so Ciara and Shawn explained that she stayed behind because Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) squeezed her hand.
The doctors thought it could be involuntary, but Hope was hopeful about Bo waking up and thought her presence by his bedside was helping.
Next on Monday’s Days episode, Ciara showed off some photos of her children, little Bo Weston and Addie Weston, before spotting the nearby time capsule box.
After learning that no one else had been able to get inside, Ciara decided to take a crack at it and opened it almost immediately.
Meanwhile, Julie woke up alone and was heartbroken all over again after realizing Doug wasn’t in bed with her.
Fortunately, Julie’s brother, Steven Olson (Stephen Schnetzer), showed up to lift her spirits and climbed through her window just like he used to.
Steven got a lecture for not staying in touch as much as he should, but he planned to change that.
Julie also reflected on their business partnership and the betrayal that soured it, so an apologetic Steven shared how a visit to an ashram reformed him.
At Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) place, Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) praised Jack Deveraux’s (Matthew Ashford) obituary for Doug and marveled over him doing time in prison alongside Bill Horton.
Lani also found out that Doug changed his name from Brent Douglas and pursued a fresh start.
While Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) gave Lani updates on some past family drama, Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) found Marie Horton (Maree Cheatham) in the town square.
Marie was back for Doug’s funeral, but she also extended her condolences to Maggie since she heard the news of Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) passing.
After talk turned to Marie’s old rivalry with Liz, she hoped to avoid seeing her. Suddenly, Liz popped up and alerted Marie to her presence.
Once people started coming together for Doug’s funeral, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) gathered with Paulina, Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Jack and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) for some reminiscing.
As Monday’s Days episode wrapped up, a faux flashback was shown of a young Doug (Peyton Meyer) interacting with Bill in prison and ultimately leaving for Salem as he scored his release.
