Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Friday, January 26, reveals that Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) showed up in Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) office and thanked her for meeting with him so late.

Marlena assured Alex that it was fine and got updates on Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) being the reason for this late-night therapy session.

After Alex talked about Theresa’s recent slip and how Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) helped him take care of her, he admitted Theresa made a rash decision to fly back to California.

Alex convinced Theresa to stay because he needed her – and that scared him. In the past with other women, Alex was used to simply wanting them.

Alex had been crazy for Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), but this was different. Marlena thought it sounded like Alex was in love, so that realization surprised him as it sank in.

Alex wondered if he should ask Theresa to marry him, but Marlena urged him to take his time and see how the relationship developed.

Next on Friday’s Days episode, Theresa showed up at the hospital and nearly backed out of walking over to Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans).

Kayla spotted Theresa and waved her over, so Theresa eventually opened up to her a bit.

After Theresa talked about her slip and how she was determined not to let it happen again, she reflected on falling for Alex.

Theresa had just been using Alex to make Brady jealous in the beginning – and then he became a distraction.

Now Theresa had genuine feelings for Alex, but she talked about feeling guilty for past mistakes.

Kayla suggested making amends would help clear Theresa’s conscience, so Theresa decided that’s what she needed to do.

Afterward, Theresa and Alex had an awkward encounter while they were both still mulling over the advice they’d received.

At home on Friday’s DOOL show, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) made Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) a traditional Scottish supper for Burns Night and quizzed her about her day at the hospital.

Since Sarah worked so hard, Xander pushed her to ask for a raise. Sarah became uncomfortable over talking about money since that had been the source of her troubles with Xander before.

However, Xander smoothed things over since he wasn’t implying that Sarah wouldn’t contribute equally or that they couldn’t take care of Victoria Horton-Cook.

The meal got back on track with some flirty moments and a bottle of wine that was polished off.

Sarah suggested drinking whiskey from the special Celtic cup that Xander had mentioned, so that’s what they did.

Xander began reciting a love poem until Sarah planted a sizzling kiss and asked if they should take this to the bedroom.

Although Xander admitted he’d love nothing more, he didn’t think they should since he was trying so hard not to mess this up.

Sarah thanked Xander for thinking clearly for the both of them and hugged him, but there was still a pretty charged vibe between them.

As Sarah went to bed and left Xander in the living room, it was obviously tough for them to resist temptation.

Once Xander’s phone rang, a distorted voice revealed that they had a job for him and wanted him to eliminate someone.

At the pub on Friday’s Days episode, Stephanie apologized to Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) for being late and joined her at a table.

Rafe Hernadez (Galen Gering) showed up with a late apology of his own before they all started gabbing about embarrassing personal stories.

Jada asked if Stephanie was still swearing off men, so Stephanie said she was – though Rafe sensed that she hesitated. Stephanie admitted it was hard, especially when she worked with two of her exes.

That led to Stephanie talking about her former flame from Seattle, so Jada mentioned that she lived there for a while.

Stephanie recalled Jada telling her that before and wished they’d been in touch back then.

While Rafe was getting drink refills, Jada told Stephanie that Rafe was charming, kind, funny and loyal – nothing like her lying, cheating ex!

Stephanie asked if that’s what broke up Jada’s marriage, so Jada explained that she found a jewelry charge on their credit card bill – and her hubby hadn’t bought her any jewelry in months.

When Jada confronted him about her suspicions, she said her husband got angry on a whole different level. That’s when Jada knew her marriage was over.

At one point, Stephanie stepped away from the table to take Everett Lynch’s (Blake Berris) call.

Everett wanted Stephanie’s help looking over an article, but she said it’d have to wait until morning since she was at the pub with friends.

After Stephanie asked Everett to join them, he seemed excited over the idea and said he was on his way. Once Everett arrived and saw Jada sitting with Rafe and Stephanie, he looked shocked.

Jada and the others didn’t notice Everett in the doorway, so he slipped back out and texted Stephanie that he couldn’t make it.

After Stephanie let Jada and Rafe know, they could tell she was disappointed.

Later on Friday’s Days episode, Stephanie spoke with Everett over the phone again, so he acted weird and summoned her to his suite to talk about something that couldn’t wait.

When Stephanie showed up, Everett said they should sit down and announced that he had a confession to make.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Everett will give Stephanie some stunning news soon, so stick with DOOL.
