Days of Our Lives Recap: Friday, January 5 – Tate’s Jailhouse Blues – Theresa Calls EJ a Monster – Sarah’s New Home

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 5, reveals that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) made Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) a traditional Scottish breakfast and flirted with her. Sarah flirted back before they ultimately reflected on what happened last night.

At one point, there was a flashback to Xander and Sarah kissing by the window as the fireworks erupted.

After Sarah thanked Xander for letting her stay in the spare room, he suggested he should be thanking her for helping care for sick Victoria Horton-Cook.

Xander eventually wondered if Sarah would consider moving in permanently and grew concerned when she started making excuses not to.

They finally addressed the kiss on Friday’s Days episode, so Sarah and Xander confirmed they both wanted it to happen.

After Xander made it clear that they’d just be co-parents and that he’d respect boundaries, Sarah agreed to move in and giving living together a try.

Xander was thrilled and amused Sarah since he already had the keys ready to hand over in his pocket.

Next on Friday’s DOOL show, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) came home to Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace), who was packing for Hong Kong.

Wendy talked about her flight tonight and couldn’t wait to show Tripp all the sights once he ultimately joined her.

Since Wendy was given an open-ended leave of absence at the Salem PD, she wondered if Tripp had asked about taking a leave of absence from the hospital.

Tripp confessed that he couldn’t go with Wendy and explained that Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) overdosed outside The Bistro last night.

After Tripp offered updates on Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) suspicious behavior, he revealed that he couldn’t leave her – especially now that she’d pushed Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) away.

Tripp was worried about Ava lying to him and getting caught up in shady drug business, so Wendy understood that his mom needed him right now.

Nevertheless, Wendy felt her parents needed her too, so that brought the challenge of doing a long-distance relationship.

Tripp tried to stay positive about it since they could talk on the phone, text and video chat. Wendy agreed, but she pointed out that it wouldn’t be the same.

Tripp and Wendy both cried as they talked about their love for each other, which led to some steamy moments on the sofa.

While Wendy was freshening up, Tripp hid a Jenga block in her suitcase so that she’d find it later.

Although Tripp wanted to take Wendy to the airport, she insisted on taking the car she ordered.

Wendy knew it’d be harder to say goodbye if Tripp came with her, so they bid each other farewell in the apartment.

At the Salem PD on Friday’s Days episode, it was revealed that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) persuaded the judge that Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) was a flight risk.

Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) lunged at EJ, but Alex held him back. Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) warned Brady not to get himself arrested, so Brady backed off.

Tate reeled over his bail being revoked, but things got worse when EJ revealed that he’d be charged as an adult and held in the local jail.

Although Tate begged Theresa not to let them do this, she obviously couldn’t stop what EJ had set in motion.

Theresa and Brady did their best to reassure Tate that everything would be OK, but Theresa called EJ a monster and saw only bitterness in his eyes.

Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) pulled EJ into the interrogation room on Friday’s Days episode and called him out on his vendetta, but EJ insisted on taking Tate down.

Although Rafe urged EJ to think about Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and what it would’ve been like for him at that age, EJ refused to budge on Tate’s punishment.

Theresa wished she’d listened to Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) about getting another lawyer. Alex also threatened to rearrange EJ’s face, but that certainly wasn’t going to help Tate.

After Tate changed into his jailhouse clothes, he shared some emotional hugs with Theresa and Brady before he was led away in handcuffs.

Brady warned EJ that this wasn’t over – not by a longshot! However, EJ just stood there looking smug about Tate’s suffering.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Tate has some tough moments ahead of him, so stay tuned for all the bad news that’s brewing.
