Days of Our Lives Recap: Monday, January 22 – Theresa Considers California Move – John’s Nightmares Bring a Scare

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, January 22, reveals that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) nearly attacked Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) when she startled him awake on the sofa. Although John hadn’t been sleeping well, he downplayed his troubles and sent Marlena off to work.

Outside the pub, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) tried to convince Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) that Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) was taking advantage of her, but she refused to listen when people warned her about Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and wasn’t going to listen now either.

Nevertheless, Maggie privately told Konstantin that maybe Salem wasn’t the best place for him considering all the naysayers.

Konstantin was upset over Maggie wanting him to leave, but she assured him that wasn’t the case. That was good news for Konstantin since he claimed to have grown fond of this town and wasn’t ready to leave it behind.

Back at the townhouse on Monday’s Days episode, Steve found John looking rough and got him to admit he’d been having nightmares. John claimed he couldn’t remember them and eventually made a suggestion about Konstantin that surprised Steve.

Although Steve didn’t like the idea of backing off Konstantin, John argued that they would just give him opportunities to play the victim if they pushed too hard.

By backing off a bit, John suggested they could give Konstantin just enough rope to hang himself.

Once John was alone again, he seemed pensive – like he was wrestling with something that he wasn’t ready to admit to Marlena or Steve.

Next on Monday’s DOOL episode, Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) scrambled to explain away her kiss with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) after getting caught by Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson).

Alex was angry at first, but Theresa took all the blame for impulsively kissing Brady and apologized profusely.

After Theresa acted like it happened because of the drugs, she assured Alex that he was the only one she wanted.

Theresa beat herself up for being so weak, but Brady gave her a pep talk and promised he wouldn’t say anything to Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) about her slip.

Once Brady made his way to the pub, Maggie saw him going inside and joined him. Brady found out Alex told Maggie about Theresa’s slip and was grateful when Maggie said she’d reach out to her.

Although Brady considered the idea of Theresa moving in the townhouse so he could keep an eye on her, Maggie felt like that was a terrible plan that could put Brady’s own sobriety at risk.

Back with Theresa on Monday’s Days episode, she once again apologized to Alex and needed to know that he trusted her.

Alex still seemed concerned about Theresa and Brady’s lingering feelings, so Theresa suggested maybe she should move back to California and get herself straightened out until she could see Tate again.

In Konstantin’s room, he looked at an old card with a design on it and talked about how he never thought he’d see “The Pawn” again. “All in good time,” Konstantin said to himself.

Over with Steve on Monday’s Days episode, he sat at the pub and wondered if what Konstantin had hinted at could really be true.

When Marlena ran into Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) with Jude Brady in his stroller, he apologized for Sloan Petersen-Brady’s (Jessica Serfaty) drunken behavior and let her know it was a one-time deal.

Marlena assured Eric it was fine and asked him about his photography business, which had already booked a few gigs. Eric was glad for the extra cash since Christmas got a little lean with the new baby.

At Statesville, Clyde Weston (James Read) toyed with Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) by pretending he wasn’t involved in the drug ring and that he was a reformed prisoner.

Clyde also dropped hints about Lucas Horton’s (Bryan Dattilo) attack and went over hypothetical situations where he might want to hire a guy like Harris.

However, Clyde eventually suggested Harris wouldn’t make it through the vetting process and gave him a mandate to focus his attention on other things.

Harris acted like he was a guy with nothing to lose, but Clyde guessed that maybe there was a special someone that Harris cared about.

If that special someone got hurt, it’d be all Harris’ fault. Harris warned that if Clyde harmed anyone he cared about, then it’d be the last thing Clyde did.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Clyde could have a few more tricks up his sleeve, so stick with us for updates on all the chaos.
