Days of Our Lives Recap: Thursday, January 11 – Rafe to the Rescue – Paulina’s Disastrous Interview – Kate’s Torn Heart

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 11, reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Everett Lynch (Blake Berris) discussed their upcoming interview with Mayor Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) before Chad admitted he saw Everett kissing Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) on New Year’s Eve.

At The Spectator on Thursday’s Days episode, Everett was confused about why Chad was confessing this, but Chad just acted like it was an observation.

Although Stephanie could kiss anyone she wanted to, Chad still cared about her.

Everett understood that, but he reminded Chad that he cared about Stephanie too and always would.

Talk turned to the drug crisis and how Everett wished he somehow could’ve helped Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) that night.

Chad praised Everett for being an investigative journalist who wanted to make a real difference, so Everett thanked him for acknowledging that.

In Paulina’s office on Thursday’s DOOL show, she struggled to choke down some chowder and cougher her way through her interview with Chad and Everett.

After Everett and Chad came to Paulina’s rescue with water, she acted like she was just getting over something and would be fine.

Paulina also ignored a phone call from University Hospital, so Everett noticed and relayed the news to Chad later.

That left Chad and Everett with growing concerns about Paulina’s health.

Back with Paulina on Thursday’s Days episode, she called her doctor back and just wanted to get her results over the phone.

When Paulina’s doctor refused, she agreed to squeeze in a meeting tomorrow and seemed uneasy.

After Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) spoke to Paulina about a possible new tactic to crack the drug business case, he approached Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) in the town square.

Harris pitched the idea of Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) being an informant for the cops and trying to find out which inmate was running a drug empire from Statesville.

Kate thought that sounded way too dangerous and shut Harris down before stepping away for a phone call.

While Harris was alone with Roman, he suggested he might be able to change Kate’s mind since Lucas would be rewarded with his freedom if he cooperated.

Roman confessed he was somewhat ambivalent about Lucas’ release since he was in prison because he kidnapped Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).

Harris understood that, but he also thought Roman could put his issues aside and support this for Kate’s sake.

Once Kate returned and got updates on Lucas’ potential early release, Harris gave her some time to mull it over.

Roman admitted to Kate that although the job was risky, he thought Lucas would be OK and get his freedom out of it.

Kate still had some fears, but she eventually called Harris to let him know she would take him to see Lucas at Statesville.

At the Salem PD on Thursday’s Days episode, Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) complained to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) about Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) getting injured in jail.

Rafe was outraged since Tate was supposed to be kept isolated, so he spoke to the guards about the mistake and made sure it wouldn’t happen again.

Meanwhile, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) returned from court and talked to Brady, Theresa and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) in the interrogation room.

After Justin revealed that Tate’s appeal had been denied, Alex blew up at him for being the reason Tate was still behind bars. As far as Alex was concerned, this was Justin’s fault and no one else’s.

Justin got sick of being criticized, so he angrily announced he was taking himself off the case – and Alex agreed it was a good idea.

Once Justin stomped off to file the motion to remove himself, Brady seemed uneasy about changing to Alex’s hotshot lawyer friend, Rodney.

Alex offered reassurance and got Rodney on the phone, but there was nothing more Rodney could do beyond what Justin had already done.

After Justin returned from taking the next steps, Brady spoke to him before he made things official and was done being passive.

Brady wanted Justin to be Tate’s lawyer and stood up for him once they rejoined Alex and Theresa.

Justin agreed to take the case again, but he refused to let Alex keep berating him – especially since Alex wasn’t even Tate’s parent.

Once Theresa piped up about Tate’s mom and dad handling this alone, Alex seemed annoyed and hurt as he exited.

Brady seemed surprised over Theresa being so harsh, but she suggested Tate mattered more than anyone else’s feelings right now.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Theresa and Brady will do whatever they can to save Tate from this awful situation, so stay tuned to DOOL.
