Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Thursday, January 25, reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) found Everett Lynch (Blake Berris) writing his resignation letter, so that led to an argument about Chad’s family loyalty and journalistic integrity.
Chad said it’d be different if the cops had actually found something at The Bistro during the raid, but Everett thought everything should be included because it was part of the narrative.
After Chad agreed not to influence future stories, Everett decided he would stay instead of resigning as planned.
Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) was distracted when he was supposed to be helping Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) organize the geocaching scavenger hunt.
Stephanie assumed this was about Tripp’s mom, so he got nervous until Stephanie explained that she was helping Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) handle the PR crisis at The Bistro.
After Stephanie left on Thursday’s DOOL show, Wendy offered to try to hack The Bistro’s POS system and see what she could find out, but Tripp didn’t want Wendy involved.
In fact, Tripp seemed concerned about Wendy being romantically involved with the son of Ava Vitali, but she loved him no matter what and knew he was his own person.
While Tripp carried Wendy to the bedroom for some passion, Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) showed up at the Salem PD to serve as Ava and Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) lawyer.
Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) questioned Stefan and Ava about their visits to Clyde Weston (James Read) at Statesville, so Stefan claimed he ripped into Clyde over what happened to Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller).
Ava admitted Clyde went after Tripp to get her to work for him, but she lied about turning him down and said she could be pretty convincing.
Harris called out Ava’s deception, but Sloan acted like this was bordering on harassment and insisted her clients were leaving since the cops weren’t arresting them.
After Ava said she wanted to speak with Harris privately, she ignored Sloan and Stefan’s attempts to talk her out of it.
Once Harris was alone with Ava, he urged her to come clean and promised he could help her.
Ava insisted it was best for everyone if Harris backed off, but he refused since he loved her. When Harris pulled Ava into a kiss, she reciprocated it.
Back at The Spectator, Everett talked to Chad about the geocaching scavenger hunt, which the newspaper was sponsoring despite Xander Cook’s (Paul Telfer) objections.
After Everett’s dinner at Stephanie’s place came up, Chad seemed curious – though he clarified that he wasn’t jealous.
Chad wished Everett and Stephanie the best whether they decided to stick to friendship or pursue something more.
Everett thanked Chad for being so cool about it, so Stephanie walked in and wondered what they were talking about.
Once Everett fibbed that it was the geocaching scavenger hunt, he got a notification about Ava and Stefan being interrogated at the police station.
Everett assumed Chad wouldn’t mind if he went there to investigate, so Chad confirmed he didn’t before Everett exited.
Stephanie asked what that was about, so Chad confessed the latest Stefan drama and the disagreement he had with Everett.
Since Stephanie was doing PR for The Bistro now, she was pleased Chad hadn’t included the restaurant in the drug raid story – especially since the cops didn’t find anything.
Chad also admitted that Everett was a pretty good guy now that he’d gotten to know him, so Stephanie was glad they were keeping the peace. The conversation wrapped up with Stephanie hugging Chad, who seemed a little wistful.
Back at the Salem PD on Thursday’s Days episode, Ava caused a scene by slapping Harris over the kiss.
That caused a commotion before Ava said Rafe should tell his cops to keep their “damn hands” off her, so Sloan suggested filing a complaint. Ava just wanted to get out of there and started heading for the door.
Everett tried to get Stefan to answer his questions, but Sloan wound up giving him a quote about how poorly the cops were handling everything.
As for Rafe, he confronted Harris over his inappropriate conduct with Ava and definitely didn’t look happy.
In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) surprised Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) with her new engagement ring since it was ready sooner than anticipated.
It was a huge blue diamond surrounded by Venetian glass since Johnny wanted something unique and to remember their time in Italy. Johnny also name-dropped that this rare stone once graced Elizabeth Taylor’s finger.
In Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) office, Chanel showed off her new bling and left her mom squealing with glee. Paulina started making all kinds of wedding plans since Valentine’s Day wasn’t very far away.
However, the mood turned somber after Paulina got updates from her oncologist, who called with the news that her surgery wasn’t happening for about two months.
Johnny offered to pull some strings to bump up the timeline, but Paulina said it was fine despite how anxious she seemed.
Paulina argued that it’d allow her to focus on the wedding and insisted on celebrating with Chanel, Johnny and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) tonight.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Paulina still has some health-related challenges ahead, so stay tuned to DOOL.
