Days of Our Lives recap and spoilers for Wednesday, January 17 reveal that the Johnson family dinner ends with a charity geocaching idea. Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) confronts Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) about assaulting Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). Plus, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Everett Johnson (Blake Berris) explain how they meet in Seattle.
DOOL recap for Wednesday, January 17 reveal that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) hauls boxes into his apartment. Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) stands around directing Xander where to put the boxes.
Xander gripes about how heavy they are and wants to know what is inside. Sarah says more of Victoria Cook’s clothes.
As Xander stares at Sarah, she admits to going overboard shopping for the baby. In another box is Sarah’s extensive gnome collection.
Xander comments about how could he not know about the gnomes even though they were married. Xander declares gnomes belong in gardens. Sarah counters that they don’t have a garden.
Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), and Stephanie are getting everything ready for the family dinner.
Steve wishes Joey Johnson (last played by James Lastovic) were there, but is thankful to have Stephanie and Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) in Salem.
Stephanie reminds her parents that she and Tripp aren’t kids anymore. Steve says they will always be kids in his eyes.
Tripp and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) arrive at the Johnson home. Wendy brought a cherry pie as Steve makes a joke.
Tripp explains it was really busy at the hospital. Kayla insists that there will be no interruptions during this family dinner. Tripp asks if Stephanie is flying solo tonight. Stephanie grimaces.
Stefan is still inside the Bistro and is talking to Gabi Hernandez-DiMera (last played by Camila Banus) on the phone.
Gabi still has a broken leg. Gabi senses something is wrong. Stefan assures her everything is fine and he just misses her.
Ava wants to know why Harris texted her from an unknown number. Harris asks why Ava followed orders from an unknown number.
Ava wants to know if Harris is there to apologize. Harris explains he’s worried and needs to know what’s really going on.
Harris begs Ava for the truth. A guilty-looking Ava starts into Harris’ eye but says nothing.
DOOL recap for Monday, January 17 Sarah checks on Victoria, who is still sleeping.
While Sarah is gone, Xander sighs about all the toys and miniature sewing machines. Xander looks like he’s wondering if this was really a good idea. Xander flashes back to handing Sarah the keys to the apartment.
Sarah comes back and snaps Xander back to the present. Sarah offers to heat up leftovers, but Xander thinks pizza is a better idea.
Gabi doesn’t believe Stefan. Gabi can tell from Stefan’s voice that something is wrong. Stefan says everything is great.
Now Gabi is wondering why Stefan is so fantastic while she’s rotting in prison.
Typical Gabi. Stefan assures Gabi he is fine, but falling apart without her. “Stabi” flirts a bit on the phone before hanging up. Stefan calls Ava’s name, but she’s disappeared.
Ava still won’t tell Harris the truth. Harris stops Ava from leaving. Harris says something has gotten into Ava and she wouldn’t get back into that life on her own.
Ava pauses, then says good night and charges off. Harris grabs Ava’s wrist and then begs her to let him help her.
Wendy says dinner smells amazing and offers her help. Kayla’s got it handled. Stephanie’s phone rings.
It’s Everett, who wants to grab a bite with Stephanie at Brady’s Pub. Stephanie lets him know she’s at a family dinner but asks Everett to join her.
Days of Our Lives recap for Monday, January 17 reveal that Harris tells Ava that he didn’t find any drugs. Ava says he freaked out the patrons and she had to comp all their meals.
Ava softly pleads with Harris to just stop. Harris says right now he’s not a cop. Harris explains, “I’m just a man… a man who cares deeply for you.”
Xander gulps down food noisily and says he feels like a man again. More like a caveman.
Sarah and Xander are procrastinating unpacking the boxes.
Xander says he wants them both to feel comfy there and asks Sarah to consider condensing all those items. Xander asks about the sewing machine. It’s an antique. Sarah thought she’d pick up sewing.
Xander reminds her she doesn’t have any free time. Sarah brings up Xander’s kilt trunk. They go back and forth about gnomes and kilts.
Sarah agrees to ask Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) to store both their items for them. Xander agrees.
Everett shows up at the Johnson residence. Steve asks Tripp how he knows Everett.
Tripp tells Steve that it’s not his job to feed him intel about Stephanie’s boyfriends. Steve admits he didn’t even know she had a boyfriend in Seattle. Stephanie introduces Everett to Kayla, Steve, and Wendy.
Everett brought flowers for Kayla. Everett also picked up red as well as white wine. Wendy goes to help Stephanie and Kayla. Meanwhile, Steve tells Everett, “I understand you saw my daughter in Seattle.”
“Xarah” makes progress on the unpacking. Sarah doesn’t want Xander to look in one box.
Xander gets curious. Sarah stalls and then says it is her Xander Box. Xander wants to look inside. Xander is also shocked that Sarah kept mementos of their time together. Xander begs Sarah to look inside. She agrees.
There is a hat on their first beach trip. Sarah had also found something of Xander’s that went missing, but it wasn’t shown.
Harris says what Ava’s been doing lately isn’t her. Ava says he just doesn’t want to believe it. Harris says no, he felt the good in Ava before.
That is who he still sees. Ava is fighting back tears. Harris goes to kiss Ava, but Stefan interrupts.
Steve tells everyone at the table that Everett was just about to explain how he met Stephanie. Kayla wants to hear the story too.
Everett says it was a coffee shop. Stephanie and Everett explain the story. Everett offered Stephanie $50 for the last muffin. Stephanie didn’t take the money but suggested splitting the muffin in half.
Then, they found other similarities, including a PR agency they were both associated with. Steve tells everyone at the table once again that he didn’t even know Stephanie had a boyfriend.
Steve really seems to be struggling with not knowing all the men in Stephanie’s life. Stephanie politely covers. Steve asks them if they are back together or what. Stephanie is mortified.
Days of Our Lives recap for Monday, January 17 reveal that “Xarah” comes across their wedding photo. Sarah gets nervous and packs everything up in a rush and mutters about putting it all in storage. “Xarah” lock eyes.
Stefan tells Ava that he needs to get her inside as they have a hell of a mess to clean up thanks to the detective.
Harris says that was legal. Stefan insists it was Harris’ personal vendetta against him. Stefan grabs Ava and rushes off, saying if he has any further questions to contact his lawyer.
Everett tells everyone they are not back together. Stephanie has made it clear that friendship is all she wants right now.
Steve asks if Everett wants more. Everett explains he’s grateful for the friendship. Tripp offers to change the subject. Tripp and Wendy have news, which makes everyone stop and stare.
Xander rubs his sore arms and blames Sarah’s gnomes. Sarah gives him a massage and works out the kink. Sarah warns him they’ll have to take turns. Xander adds rules about cooking and cleaning.
Sarah will do Xander’s laundry, including underwear, if he goes to the grocery store. Sarah’s jaw drops over Xander saying he puts the toilet seat down now. The two passionate kiss.
Stefan roughly hurls Ava into the restaurant. Ava calls him a “freaking neanderthal.” Ava doesn’t like being yanked around.
Stefan said he had to do something before Ava talked. Ava said she wasn’t. Stefan thinks she was. Ava doesn’t want to get busted or go to prison. Then Harris walks in.
Stefan is fed up. Harris says that as an officer of the law, he is there to inform Stefan that he left his back door unlocked and there’s been a lot of crime in this area lately. Stefan sarcastically says thank you, now scurry off.
Harris adds that he is also there to check on the well-being of Ava, whom he saw Stefan assault. Harris asks if Ava wants to press charges.
Stefan thinks this is laughable. Harris tells Ava that he can protect her. Suddenly, Stefan grabs Ava, dips her, and passionately kisses her.
Tripp has everyone looking at their phones. Steve asks what they are looking at. It’s a scavenger hunt using an app on the phone. Wendy explains geocaching. Steve asks the purpose. Tripp says to have fun. Wendy adds that it’s an adventure and gets people outdoors.
Stephanie has an idea about using geocaching for charity. Stephanie asks Everett about The Spectator sponsoring it. Kayla mentions the hospital could benefit too. Everyone is getting really excited.
So, Wendy agrees to handle the tech. Steve will hide the items since he knows the town so well. Stephanie tells everyone she will call Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) in the morning.
They just need to set a date. Tripp suggests Valentine’s Day. That is also Steve and Kayla’s wedding anniversary.
Tripp has an early shift so he and Wendy have to leave. Steve offers to give Wendy and Tripp leftovers. Kayla really adores Wendy and tells Tripp to look after her.
Kayla is worried about Paulina. Kayla tells Tripp that she’s sure Paulina will handle everything on her plate.
Kayla looks like she’s trying to convince herself rather than Tripp, though. Tripp brings up Holly. Kayla says she still isn’t responsive to sound, light, or touch.
Steve and Wendy talk about Tripp. Steve already has quite a soft spot for Wendy. Steve can tell that Wendy loves Tripp, too, and that makes him very happy.
Everett tells Stephanie he has to get going. Stephanie reminds him he’s a night owl. Stephanie also remembers Everett always having issues with insomnia. Everett says the coma fixed that problem.
Everett suggests they team up for the treasure hunt. Stephanie talks about her and Everett turning the town upside down.
Sarah stops the kiss. Sarah says they shouldn’t. Sarah doesn’t want history repeating itself. Xander doesn’t want to mess anything up. They both want Victoria to have a safe and loving home. For Victoria. Xander and Sarah shake on it.
Harris mentions that Stefan is admitting to cheating on his incarcerated wife. Stefan says Ava doesn’t have a problem with it.
Ava is still kinda speechless, but says, “Uh, no.” Ava says it’s something they can’t help. Ava says life is too short not to enjoy it.
Harris doesn’t know what to believe. Harris says that they deserve each other. Harris says the next time he sees Ava, he hopes it’s not behind bars.
After Harris leaves, Ava shoves Stefan away. Stefan reminds Ava that Harris is all talk. Ava demands to know why Stefan had to kiss her like that.
Stefan says it was for show. Stefan says he didn’t mean anything by the kiss and Ava knows he loves his wife deeply. Ava tells him not to flatter himself. But it was a bit much.
Stefan insists he had to make it believable. Stefan declares that Harris is not Ava’s friend. Stefan says to stay away from Harris or he’ll bury them.
After Stefan storms out, Ava screams in frustration. Then, Ava takes a glass and a bottle of liquor. Ava decides to skip the glass and guzzles the alcohol straight from the bottle.
