Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that “Abigail DiMera” will soon be exposed as Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), so everyone will have to get used to calling her “Cat” and not fake Abby! Since Cat’s mother is Catharina Meleounis (last played by Ellie Patrikios), she was obviously named after her mom.
That makes Cat the granddaughter of Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) and raises questions about why he believed Catharina was deceased.
Catharina is still alive and in captivity thanks to Clyde Weston (James Read), so there’s a lot more to the story.
Cat will have plenty of info to spill when it comes to Mama Catharina and her past, but we want to focus on Cat’s own future for a moment.
Cat has developed genuine feelings for Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), but he’ll want nothing to do with her after all the scam news comes out.
Chad will put Cat on full blast and presumably wash his hands of her, so forgiveness won’t come anytime soon.
Of course, Chad might forgive Cat down the road and grow to love her for who she really is, but that’s probably a long way off. In the meantime, who might Days pair Cat up with?
EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) is single and has already been interacting with Cat at the DiMera mansion.
DOOL fans know EJ has done his fair share of scheming – not to mention he hates Clyde with a burning passion.
It’s easy to imagine EJ having sympathy for Cat and understanding that she was doing what she had to do for her mom’s sake.
EJ has been in similar situations with his own beloved mother, Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), who was kidnapped once upon a time by Clyde too until his plot got derailed.
That could give EJ and Cat something to bond over in the coming Days episodes. EJ might even step up to help find hostage Catharina and reunite her with her Cat, Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson), Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) and Felicity Greene (Kennedy Garcia).
Perhaps EJ will also offer to let Cat keep living at the DiMera mansion, where they can grow even closer.
If EJ and Cat do end up on the path to romance, Chad may lash out at his brother for getting together with someone who caused him so much pain!
Our Days predictions hint that Cat and EJ might sizzle eventually, so we’ll bring you updates on any romantic developments that might be on the horizon.
