Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Fiona Cook (Serena Scott Thomas) just made a major admission and asked for Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) help to get through to Xander Cook (Paul Telfer).
In Days’ July 26 episode, Fiona came clean about the real reason she stayed away from Xander for so long.
According to Fiona, she had a nervous breakdown that resulted in her being committed to a mental institution.
Fiona was locked up for a few years and struggled to find Xander once she was released since he had moved on.
Once Fiona finally tracked Xander down, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) was already in his life by then.
Fiona decided to just let go and allow Victor to watch over Xander – though she never made a paternity confession since she didn’t want to undermine Xander’s love for Titus Kiriakis, the man he previously believed was his father.
Of course, Xander was skeptical of the story once Sarah gave him updates, but Sarah pointed out that Fiona seemed sincere.
The jury’s still out on how honest Fiona is being and whether she might have some bigger secrets that caused her to abandon Xander all that time.
However, let’s consider for a moment that Fiona is telling the truth – that she really did have a nervous breakdown that required her to be committed for multiple years.
If that’s the case, Days could be setting the stage for what’ll ultimately happen to Fiona now that she’s resurfaced.
DOOL may be gearing up for another psychiatric stint for Fiona down the road.
Will something happen to drive Fiona back over the edge? Could Fiona have a Bayview crisis in her future?
Fiona is already throwing back booze again when she shouldn’t be drinking as an alcoholic. That could be step one of history repeating itself if Fiona isn’t careful.
It’d be easy for Days to put Fiona in some danger and create a situation that triggers something painful from her past.
