Days of Our Lives Spoilers: John’s Past as ‘The Pawn’ Revealed – What DOOL Fans Need to Know

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: John’s Past as ‘The Pawn’ Revealed – What DOOL Fans Need to Know

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) history has always been a wild ride due to all the rewrites and confusion over the years. DOOL writers recently settled on a backstory that involved a reunion between John and his father, Timothy Robicheaux (Dick Van Dyke).

Although John got a happy ending with his dad, there’s more to uncover when it comes to his past and the memories that are still missing.

We’ve got a refresher course on “The Pawn” for you so that you’ll be prepared for John’s upcoming Days storyline with Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols).

Toward the end of 1985, a mysterious amnesiac man showed up in Salem all covered in bandages following facial reconstruction surgery.

That man was known as “The Pawn” and was delivered to Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), but Victor wasn’t the only one interested in controlling him.

There was a feud over who should have power over this mystery man, who had ties to Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo).

“The Pawn” would turn out to be a brainwashed and highly-sought-after assassin.

Steve found “The Pawn” out wandering around after he escaped in his bandages, so he was a big part of that story.

In the Days’ December 21 episode, Steve reflected on that time period and thought “The Pawn” seemed more like a lost puppy than the dangerous asset everyone made him out to be.

Once 1986 began and the bandages came off, Drake Hogestyn debuted in the role and finally gave “The Pawn” a real face.

“The Pawn” took the name “John Black” off a memorial wall, but he was eventually believed to be Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), who was presumed deceased at the time.

A Days rewrite undid the Roman twist, so John became his own man again later on.

There were plenty of other rewrites over the years, but what really matters is now what happened before “The Pawn” ever showed up in Salem.

John still doesn’t have the puzzle pieces when it comes to that part of his backstory,

John recently talked about Victor taking the secrets of his past to the grave and was grateful that they were buried.

However, they’re clearly not so buried after all since Konstantin recognizes John’s eyes.

Konstantin’s connection to Victor will come into play and lead to some stunning revelations, so John’s memory gaps will be filled in – perhaps in some horrifying ways!

Days of Our Lives spoilers say John will get updates on some shockers, so stay tuned for more news on his past as “The Pawn.”
