Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 19, reveals that Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) scolded JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) for carrying out a mission with “that nightmare” Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez), but he defended Gabi since she was a big help.
Talk eventually turned to the stolen necklace just before Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) appeared and met JJ.
After JJ offered to show Doug around town, Doug agreed he could do it now.
JJ just wanted to know more about the stolen necklace first, so Julie explained all the suspicions swirling around Steven Olson (Stephen Schnetzer).
Doug heard about Steven interacting with Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), who used to fence jewelry, so he was intrigued over that revelation.
After Doug said he was going to get some fresh air on a walk, it was decided that JJ would show him around tomorrow instead.
At the Hernandez house on Thursday’s Days episode, Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) quizzed Gabi about her time with JJ in Vancouver and was quite pleased to learn they shared a bed.
Gabi insisted they just slept in it, but Javi thought she wanted something more to happen.
Javi got Gabi to show him JJ’s pic, so he offered his seal of approval and pushed her to reconnect with her ex.
Since JJ was sticking around and offered to grab a drink with Gabi, Javi urged her to make the next move.
Gabi kept dragging her feet, so Javi finally snatched her phone away and texted JJ for her.
When JJ got a text taking him up on the drink offer, he smiled and lied to Julie about it being a work thing.
JJ texted Gabi back to see if tonight worked for her, so Javi’s matchmaking efforts paid off.
At the townhouse, Tate Black (Leo Howard) looked online and celebrated good news with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) since they got an A on their final project.
Holly has some last-minute Christmas shopping to do, so she kissed Tate before taking off.
In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Holly ran into Leo and gave him updates on her romantic rollercoaster with Tate.
Leo was pleased to learn Tate had reunited with Holly and that they were out in the open now.
However, Leo was horrified over Tate calling Sophia Choi (Madelyn Kientz) the wrong name in bed and clearly felt sorry for her.
That said, Leo had always been rooting for Tate and Holly.
Once Leo warned Holly to enjoy her romance “while it lasts,” he got inside her head with talk about storm clouds once star-crossed lovers finally get together.
Holly called Tate to check in and seemed pensive, but she just told him that she ran into Leo and that he was a funny guy.
Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) paid Tate a visit at the townhouse to reveal that he was headed to Vancouver with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) and Felicity Greene (Kennedy Garcia).
Aaron explained how they needed to be there for their mom and wasn’t sure when he’d be back, but he assumed it wouldn’t be until after winter break.
After Tate and Aaron said their goodbyes, Aaron headed out. Tate was alone when Sophia showed up at the door, so he let her in and was shocked when she said she was pregnant.
In the cemetery on Thursday’s Days episode, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) spoke to Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) gravestone and was alarmed by a nearby noise.
It turned out to be Cat, who said was taking Aaron and Felicity to Vancouver to see Catharina Greene (Susan Elena Matus).
Cat shared that Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) was out of jail for the time being, but he’d be going to prison for 18 months.
That’s why Cat needed to step up for her other siblings now, so Chad was happy things worked out mostly OK for them.
Chad admitted he had sympathy for Cat’s family after everything that went down in Canada.
Although Chad now knew Clyde Weston (James Read) didn’t give Cat much of a choice, she still wished she could take back all her deception.
After Cat and Chad said goodbye to each other, Cat met up with Aaron outside the pub. The plan was to go get Felicity so they could all head to the airport.
Back with Leo on Thursday’s DOOL show, he got a surprise visitor at the Salem Inn.
Doug showed up at the door and sought confirmation that he was Leo Stark, so Leo wondered who was asking.
“Someone who needs help selling this,” Doug said as he pulled the stolen necklace out of his pocket.
